20th September has been confirmed as the release date for Spanish-Chilean director Alejandro Amenábar’s psychological horror film The Others. While it is currently being handled by Lionsgate it is actually marking its 10th anniversary as a Miramax catalog title. The Blu-ray version of the film is expected to debut at Wal-Mart upon its release.

The film is set after the Second World War, taking place in a country mansion somewhere in Britain. Nicole Kidman stars in the film as Grace Stewart who lives in the mansion with her two children, played by Alakina Mann and James Bentley, who are both, intolerant to sunlight. Soon after the family has moved into the new house some very strange paranormal occurrences begin to occur which are witnessed by them.

Back when it was released in 2001, ‘The Others’ had a great reception from the audiences all over the globe. In fact the Spanish director Alejandro Amenábar had marked his big budget debut with this film project. For her leading role in the film, Nicole Kidman had also won a BAFTA, a Golden Globe, and a Saturn Award.
