This weekend a truly unmatchable and momentous box office achievement took place which was nothing but enormous. After waiting for so long, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 finally got unleashed on the world by Warner Bros. starting at midnight Thursday. The release of the film caused frenzy among theatre goers who lined up to buy tickets all across the globe. What makes this film the movie event of the summer you ask? Well almost everyone knows that the end of Harry Potter movie franchise marked with the release of this second installment to the last film. A movie that took a decade in the making is now among us. As enormous as this event was it also managed to shatter quite a lot of records as well.

Some of the most significant achievements of the film right upon its release include the biggest opening weekend ever, the biggest midnight gross ever, the best single day ever, IMAX records and the best international weekend ever. It seems like quite a lot of titles and a whole lot of earnings have gone under the belt of this Warner Bros. film.

Other movies currently in the Box Office, that had to bite the dust as ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2’ made its way to the top include ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’  by Paramount Pictures, stepping down to the second spot. Another Warner Bros’ film ‘Horrible Bosses’ was at the third spot and the ‘Zookeeper’ made it to the fourth position during this Box Office weekend
