Universal Pictures has finally confirmed that they releasing Martin Scorsese’s 1991 thriller film, Cape Fear, on Blu-ray and fans get to own the filmography of the director on Blu-ray. The original film of the same name was directed by J. Lee Thompson in 1962 and Scorsese’s 1991 version is in fact a remake of the original film. The film is starring Robert De Niro, Jessica Lange, Juliette Lewis and Nick Nolte. The lead character in the film, Max Candy, was played by Robert De Niro, who also received an Oscar nomination for his role.
The plot of this film also follows the story of Max Candy, a convicted rapist who received a severe punishment just because his defending lawyer hid a report that could have lightened his sentence. Thus, Candy blames his former public defender for the 14 year imprisonment that he served. The film revolves around Max Candy’s attempt to seek vengeance against the person who purposefully used faulty defense tactics to increase the severity of his imprisonment sentence.
A BD-50 disc with DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 is going to be a part of this Blu-ray version of this 1991 remake film. Universal Pictures has also confirmed the special features that are going to be included in this Blu-ray version such as:
