Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace Comes to Blu-ray with a CGI Yoda

The fact that a new life is added to films when they are released in HD on Blu-ray cannot be denied. Thus, great news arrives for the Star Wars fan base because the Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace is all set to be released on Blu-ray very soon and that is not all.

The fact that Stars Wars is a movie franchise based entirely on a fictional universe, George Lucas therefore made the decision eliminating anything too real or tactile from all the films of this grad franchise. The first step taken by the writer and director of the first film was to replace the Yoda puppet that was featured in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace to an all-CGI creation. This news was revealed by Slashfilm and they have confirmed that along with this replacement, the entire prequel trilogy is in fact scheduled to be released on Blu-ray, this September.

When it comes to tinkering or tweaking with his creations, George Lucas never seems to be hesitant. When talking about a franchise as big as Star Wars, there is no doubt that the director would want to keep enhancing his films to make them even better than they already are. Considering the fact that we are living in a world where anything is possible on the film screen, therefore the CGI version of Yoda will prove to be more than subtle and the differences can definitely be noticed. Stars Wars fans can decide for themselves whether they liked the previous Yoda more or the new CGI Yoda.
