Dragon Tattoo Trilogy: Extended Edition Comes to Blu-ray

Music Box films recently confirmed that The Dragon Tattoo Trilogy: Extended Edition will be released on Blu-ray, this November. The three movies that are a part of this Trilogy, namely the The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, have all been adapted from the popular Millennium Trilogy by novelist Stieg Larsson. The extended versions of the film would be featured in this Blu-ray Trilogy edition, as they were broadcasted on Swedish television.

The original running time of the Dragon Tattoo Trilogy that was over 2 hours has been restored all thanks the release of this Blu-ray box set by Music Box. Not only do these extended versions of the three films make much more sense but they also seem to be closely linked to the novels they were adapted from.

All three films are expected to have 5.1 Dolby Digital audio according to earlier reports. Each of the films will have their original aspect ratios, i.e. 2.39:1 for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and 1.85:1 for the other two. An additional feature that was recently produced would also be included in this 4-disc collection:

53-minute-long Millennium: The Story documentary about Stieg Larsson’s life

It has not yet been confirmed, whether new additional features or those which were present in the previous Blu-ray releases will be included in this edition. The 22nd of November has been confirmed as the release date for The Dragon Tattoo Trilogy: Extended Edition.
