Javier Bardem In Talks to Join Despicable Me 2 Cast

It has been almost a year since the release of the American 3D animated comedy film Despicable Me directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud. Apart from having a tremendously successful box office performance the animated film was also thoroughly appreciated by young and adult audiences alike.

It has recently been reported by THR that Javier Bardem is in talks about lending his voice to Despicable Me 2, the much awaited sequel of Universal/Illumination’s 2010 animated comedy film. In this follow up sequel Javier Bardem is expected to play the character of Macho, a new villain for the upcoming animated film, i.e. if he welcomed aboard with the rest of the cast. The plot of the original animated comedy revolved around supervillain Gru who plans to shrink and steal the moon but his evil intentions soon change when he adopts three adorable orphan girls. Javier Bardem will be starring in an animated film for the very first time if he scores the deal to join the Despicable Me 2 cast.

Currently expectations are that Despicable Me 2 will be released on the 3rd of July, 2013. One Javier Bardem’s most recent movie role was in the 2006 memoir film Eat Pray Love alongside Julia Roberts. While it was not such a big role, yet we should give the actor a chance to prove himself. Despicable Me will definitely be a much awaited release for the year 2013 hopefully Javier Bardem will make a marvelous addition to the cast of this upcoming sequel.
