E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is coming to Blu-ray in October

For the first time on Blu-ray, from Universal Pictures, an old friend is coming back into our hearts. Steven Steven Spielberg’s classic, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial will be arriving October 9th, 2012. The release is Blu-ray Combo Pack with the Blu-ray version of the film, the DVD version, a digital copy that works with Windows Media and iTunes, and UltraViolet Digital Copy.

In 1981, the fi became the biggest movie of the year, spending 16 weekends at #1. Today, the film still holds the rank of beng the 4th most successful film of all time in the US. It had a noteworthy showing at the Academy Awards, nominated for 9 academy awards including Best Picture.
