AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON will change the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Today, there was some news that Marvel Studios has stated that the Avengers’ team roster will definitely be changed by the end of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. With the introduction of the new characters and solo films coming up, maybe by the end of the film those characters might have to pick a side.

Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige had this to say:

The Avengers films, ideally, in the grand plan are always big, giant linchpins… It’s like as it was in publishing, when each of the characters would go on their own adventures and then occasionally team up for a big, 12-issue mega-event. Then they would go back into their own comics, and be changed from whatever that event was. I envision the same thing occurring after this movie, because the Avengers roster is altered by the finale of this film.

Now this news makes perfect sense with all of the talk of the plans Marvel Studios has for the Civil War and the future of their cinematic universe. Having some heroes going with Tony Stark and some heroes going with Captain America would be a great way to create that splinter that the plans are looking for.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON hits theaters May 1, 2015.
