Daniel Day-Lewis has announced that he is retiring from acting

3-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis has announced that he is quitting acting. The actor has always shined on screen in the various role he has undergone such as in LINCOLN, THERE WILL BE BLOOD, GANGS OF NEW YORK, and MY LEFT FOOT.

In a statement, spokeswoman for the actor, Leslee Dart, had this to say: “Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor. He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years. This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject. ”

He is the only actor to win 3 Academy Awards in the Best Actor category and he takes method acting to a whole new level. I, like many, am hoping that he changes his mind or at least goes out with a bang.
