Everyone knows Zavvi, over the past few years they have become the main UK retailer to release Blu-ray steelbooks, and some would even go as far to say one of the main retailers worldwide! Adding to their plethora of releases, Zavvi have now introduced Steelbook Collector Frames lets take a look at them.

Available in four options, you have a black frame with a black mount (available with a 2D effect with the steelbook closer to the front of the frame and a 3D effect where the steelbook sits in the middle of the frame) and a black frame with a white mount (again available with both 2D effect and 3D effect). The frame itself is very sturdy with a clear perspex front. On the rear is a small hook mount so the frame can be easily hung on a wall, but with the frame being pretty thick, it can stand up on it’s own on a surface.

As you can see, the steelbooks sits in the mount perfectly, which also secures it in place. By putting the backing of the frame back on, as you would do with any normal picture, this then holds the steelbook firmly in place. I didn’t move it around too much but it stayed in place all the time, so I wouldn’t be too concerned with anything being damaged as long as it the frame didn’t fall off from the wall.

Changing out the steelbooks is very easy too, so you can easily rotate with different steelbooks as and when you want
