[SDCC 2018] Show Floor Exhibitors

With over 1,000 exhibitors San Diego Comic-Con is the premier convention. The show brings together the highest level of exhibitors from toys, collectibles, movie, television, games, books, comics, and news all bringing the newest content, Ranging from the smallest of booths to mammoth exhibits there is something for everyone. Covering every booth would not just a  huge undertaking but nearly impossible so as always here’s a slice of the booths I was able to check out San Diego.

Lego
The Lego booth is always a stopping point for me with huge life sized builds which included an Lego Movie 2 Ultrakatty; Infinity War Thanos, Aquaman, and a Millennium Falcon Cockpit. This year attendees helped build Lego Movie 2 Mural’s of Emmet and Wyldstyle. Of course no Comic-Con would be complete without Lego Exclusives and as a stray away from BrickHeadz Lego offered three sets; an Aquaman set; a Marvel Ant-Man and the Wasp Bust set; and a Star Wars Millennium Falcon Cockpit Set along with three minifigures Ultrakitty, DC’s Black Lightning, and Marvel’s Sheriff Deadpool. Getting them was made much much harder with the instituted dreaded lottery system.

Mezco

Mezco continued to showcase their products including many figures from their One:12 Collective as well as other product lines including the Living Dead Dolls and Mez-its. Getting to the booth on Thursday or Friday was nearly impossible as they had a continuous line selling their convention exclusive DC Batman Beyond and Punisher: Special Ops Edition One:12 Collective figures. However once they sold out it became easier to get a few words in with the amazing people behind Mezco and also see their new product reveals including a Commissioner Gordon and a Black Bolt and Lockjaw Figure.

Mondo
https://mondotees.com/
Mondo had a big year with plenty of screen printed posters, vinyls, toys, pins, and now games. With their collaboration with Comic-Con International on the Matt Taylor Marvel 10 year anniversary print and Infinity War Poster to a slew of other posters and vinyl including Coraline, Ghostbusters, Annihilation, and The Last Jedi to name a few the Mondo booth was always crowded throughout the show. Also jumping on the success of last year’s The Thing Game mondo has now launched Mondo Games with two announced upcoming releases Jurassic Park The Chaos Gene and Fight Club: The Home Game. Things are heating up in the board gaming world!

Gentle Giant

Designers, developers, and manufactures of 3D Printed figures, statues, busts, and full size replicas Gentle Giant, always has some amazing figures on display at Comic-Con whether it is Star Wars, Marvel, DC, or more their products always amaze. Their Skottie Young inspired line including Venom and Deadpool were truly amazing to see in person!

Dark Horse
https://www.darkhorse.com/
The Dark Horse booth always provides a ton of activities throughout San Diego Comic-Con from show exclusives to autographs with top talent including Frank Miller and even Joss Whedon and Nathan Fillion for a Dr. Horrible Sing Along Blog Reunion. They even launched a collectible figure line with a truly amazing Game of Thrones Dragon!

Weta Workshop
https://www.wetanz.com/
WETA a creative development, publishing, weapons, props, creatures, make-up, miniatures, public art, and merchandise workshop works on top rated films such as Lord of the Rings, Ghost in the Shell, Warcraft, Alita and more.

World Of 3A
http://www.worldofthreea.com/
A company I’ve followed for a few years 3A creates some of the most unique figures and art. Most of what they produce is low run ensuring the highest quality. After last year’s epic showcase at San Diego Comic-Con 3A scaled back with a small booth in the Vinyl section showing off some of their products. Some of their stuff is adult themed so word of caution when heading to their site.

Mattel
Mattel is another exhibitor with a huge set-up and a two booth approach to the show; one showcasing their product lines including Hot Wheels, WWE Figures, DC Figures, Jurassic Park, Mega, and more; the other where people can purchase exclusives. A huge Pokemon Megablocks Diorama and a life size Andre the Giant statue were the highlights for me.

DC Entertainment
The DC Entertainment booth is always where numerous artist signings, drawing demos, movie costumes, and displays of figures are done. This year Aquaman was the focus with Jason Mamoa and Nicole Kidman even making an appearance on Saturday.

McFarlane Toys
https://mcfarlane.com/
Nestled in the Diamond Select booth McFarlane Toys had a display of their figures from The Walking Dead, Stranger Things, Call of Duty, and Five Night’s at Freddy’s.

Disenchantment
https://www.netflix.com/title/80095697
A new Netflix Series by creator Matt Groening – Disenchantment – is a medieval times cartoon focusing on the misadventures of Princess Bean and her demon and elf friends as she drinks, wreaks havoc, and annoys her father the king in the kingdom of Dreamland. Even if one of the people who was at the booth was a bit mean, seriously after I’ve cirled the booth 4 or 5 times spinning the prize wheel just give me the shirt it’s free promotion, the show still looks cool so check it out below.

20th Century Fox
Fox also had two booths this year. The first is the Fox Fanfare booth which gives out their annual poster tubes, posters, goodies, and is where some cast signings take place. The second more interesting booth this year was to promote the release of Deadpool 2 on blu-ray with a Deadpool and Friends animatronic show! This was truly a highlight of the show.
