YELLOWSTONE Season 3 Blu-ray Review

The Dutton family is threatened by new foes and lucrative business deals, forcing John, Kayce, Beth, and Jamie to utilize unexpected alliances and risky measures to safeguard their legacy. – Warner Bros. Synopsis

YELLOWSTONE is a series that is shown on The Paramount Channel that stars Kevin Costner as the lead. With feuding family businesses and people trying to cheat their way to the top, YELLOWSTONE is very much like DALLAS or other dramas over the years.

VIDEO QUALITY

The video is a 1080p AVC presentation that has a well-done transfer. It is very similar to the previsions season in quality and clarity. The details in the actor’s faces from the sun-worn ranch hands to the age of some of the “older” actors are strong. Individual hairs and stubble are as clear as day. Rough textures in clothing also lend to the realism. The scenery is beautifully captured and many of the backdrops are like paintings. The coloring in the sky against the dusty terrain feels right. There are clean lines and sharp contrasts in the images as well.

AUDIO QUALITY

The audio is a lossless Dolby TrueHD 5.1 mix. It is a dialogue-centric series with the front speakers getting the most use. Like the video, the audio is on par with the previous seasons in terms of the quality of the sound. Ambient and other sounds coming from the rear channels but it plays to the environment. When people are riding horses, the galloping hits the LFEs nicely. The dialogue is clear and prioritized with the effects.
