[Toy Fair 2023] Watch This Space: P.M.I. LTD and Super Impulse

Every so often a few companies crop-up that have the potential to make it big, years ago that was Jazwares this year I’ve found two diamonds in the rough who I think have potential to breakout and become larger players in the game – P.M.I. LTD and Super Impulse. Both of these companies started making the rounds at various toy shows and both had booths at San Diego Comic Con. So who are they and what are they producing.

P.M.I. LTD

Pocket Money Items produces a range of internationally recognized children’s merchandise and toys. PMI has licenses from many major brands including Sonic, Miraculous, Fortnite, Harry Potter, Paw Patrol, WWE, TMNT, and Nerf. Earlier this year they debuted their Pudgy Penguins line which is based on the NFTs of the same name. That line includes action figures, collectible figures, and plush and showcased with their blind box collectible figures line and now an advent calendar. Since that time the company has  launched their Toikido’s Piñata Smashlings line based on the characters from the Roblox game which also includes plush, collectible figures, and blind box rainbow pods. Sonic Prime and Miraculous from Netflix and their own Brawl Stars line were also featured prominently at Toy Fair.

Super Impulse

Super Impulse is a company that though they have been around for a while has just come more prominently under my radar. While I had been aware of their World’s Smallest line which feature miniature versions of iconic toys such as Super Soaker, Etch-A-Sketch, Rubik’s Cube, Sorry, Battleship, and Cornhole I was not as aware of their other offerings, which includes their Popaters Mr. Potato Head line, their 3 ¾ figures line, and their Micro Figures line which feature miniature figures in packaging of many iconic brands including Transformers, Dungeons & Dragons, Masters of the Universe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Monster High, South Park, Star Trek, some of which even feature miniature comic books.  New in the World’s Smallest line was Tetris, Trivial Pursuit, Simon, Barbie, Masters of the Universe, Rock’em Sock’em Robots, Barney, and Bananagrams. With the sheer amount of licensed products I can only see things going higher and higher.
