GHOST IN THE SHELL
Limited Steelbook Packaging with Exclusive Mondo artwork
coming to Blu-ray™ + Digital HD March 14, 2017

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – (December 13, 2016) The groundbreaking anime film Ghost in the Shell arrives on Blu-ray™ + Digital HD with limited-edition Mondo key art in collectible Steelbook packaging from Anchor Bay Entertainment on March 14, 2017. The groundbreaking anime celebrated the 25th anniversary of the original Manga in 2014. Directed by legendary anime director Mamoru Oshii, Ghost in the Shell questions human existence in the fast-paced world of the information age, this award-winning, cyber-tech thriller has established itself as one of the leading Japanese animation films of all time.

A female cybernetic government agent, Major Motoko Kusanagi, and the Internal Bureau of Investigations are hot on the trail of “The Puppet Master,” a mysterious and threatening computer virus capable of infiltrating human hosts. Together, with her fellow agents from Section 9, they embark on a high-tech race against time to capture the omnipresent entity. Ghost in the Shell took the world by storm in the mid-90’s, exhibiting a new dimension of anime with unprecedented, mesmerizing cinematic expression. Seamlessly merging traditional animation with the latest computer graphic imagery, this stunning sci-fi spectacle challenged the boundaries of mainstream animation with detailed artistic expression and a uniquely intelligent story line. Veteran director Mamoru Oshii skillfully creates the ultimate anime experience in this futuristic masterpiece based on the groundbreaking comic book by Masamune Shirow.

If this shows up on Amazon US I'll definitely order one. Love the artwork & while I already have the release posted above me I can't pass up such a gorgeous steelbook for one of my favorite movies!

Stunning case artwork by Kilian Eng released as a Mondo poster at the San Diego Comic-Con in celebration of Manga's 25th Anniversary but at a RRP of USD 35 (final price ?)

That's suggested retail price - I would guess it's going to be in the twenties somewhere. If it matches the last USA Mondo steelbooks - could be around $22 - $25.

I'd be soooo happy with either one of those, but it doesn't seem like Mondo has the rights to any films by Warner Bros. We could possibly see the second Pacific Rim since that one is Universal, though. :)

Mondo just provides the art services. Has nothing to do with the film rights. So just warner brothers in general would have to want to do one and/or a retailer willing to take the order from warner and pushing for the Mondo X to happen.

I know I'm not the only one thinking this... Group Buy please? :)

It's trade wide in the USA and *may* even be available in Canada so for now its not worth starting a group buy as there will be many retailers to choose from. As we get closer if there is any issue then we'll gladly open a GB and there's actually chance that HDN will retail this release if our pricing comparable.
