i think we might have our answer here for sure if its G1 or G2
all of the front covers look G1.but if you look closely....the illustrations are elongated especially obvious on Keanu Reeves face and on the "2001" cover.
the design in the middle is suppose to be a perfect circle...this is obviously not.compare it to the Canadian release and you will see.
i say G2 all the way

It looks the same to me too. The amazon.jp could turn up to be more rare compared to the amazon.ca version, just because amazon.jp is limiting one steelbook per order for this and the others in the wave. It doesn't seem that this is limited on amazon.ca as you can order a bunch.

Based on the list Amazon.JP provided for this wave of steels (link), the art work for three has already been released as steelbooks elsewhere:

Grand Torino - Germany (not sure if it is exclusive to Amazon.de)
2001 - Canada (exclusive to Amazon.ca)
Shawshank Redemption - Canada (Amazon.ca exclusive)

So as far as being limited and possibly increased rarity, I am betting the rest of this wave will do very well in the collector's market.

not fully confirmed yet...but it seems that there was a CHANGE OF RELEASE DATE from 21st December 2011 to 9th March 2012. Amazon.jp sent an email....damn!

I think the most probable buyer for this are the asian collectors .Even this is glossy I don't see a lot of people paying this much on it .
