There are two different order descriptions for each Steelboook:

1. Star Trek XI - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook [Blu-ray]
2. Star Trek XI - Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook [Blu-ray]

No 1 (The 'Zavvi Exclusive') is the black one.

And this is not the steelbook but just giving you idea on how it would look with the front and back. ie. giving the collector the choice of which side they want as front so you can switch the plates.

Zavvi said they plan going forward not to do any represses or large qty run. Meaning the things you loved about the Play releases in 2012 will be working their way in the strategy of zavvi.

Overall great news as we have another person in power understanding the collector communities needs/wants etc.

They are also in works of speeding up delivery times. (and new packaging for those who didnt read my update on that elsewhere)

...so this is the real exclusive, the other Zavvi duplicate of Play's release is likely to be available elsewhere across the globe and is therefore a general re-release (albeit in who knows what regarding amount of discs etc). My head hurts.

This could go two ways.

1. The original Play version with 3 discs is replicated by other countries, making the Play version no longer unique, destroying desirability (and the faith of all steelbooks collectors around the world that this wont happen again). Lose lose.

2. Or, it could mean we have the original release remaining as the only 3 disc versions, but far more 1 disc versions available, with the new Zavvi version also being unique in a completely different release altogether. Meaning win win.

Be interested to see what this one looks like, got a pre-order on the old style through Zavvi but could be swung either way. Pleased to hear Zavvi are taking things so seriously too.
