Hi All,

It's that time of year where we start looking back at movie Steelbook releases over the last year, and nominate our 'overall favorites' for a final poll in which you can vote in, in January 2013. This thread is only used to post your absolute favorites of 2012-voting is done in a separate thread later on. This is the Steelbook that you think has the best combo of art, features, etc.

Mods, please leave this thread in the main Steelbook area for now.

After nominations are closed in this thread on December 31,2012, a new thread with 25 choices (max a poll will support), (I will compile), will be posted at the beginning of January for voting through the end of January 2013. You can nominate any Steelbook released in 2012.

Last year's winner, as voted by the HDN community was 'Thor'. 2011 Thread is here.

A running list of Steelbook releases for 2012 is here.

Have fun!
DB

I have to go with The Raid (play.com) due to the use of fan art front and rear and also the debossing front and rear which set it apart from any other 2012 release with regards to finishes. Not a bad film either ;)

I'd then go for Terminator (play.com) as we voted for the inside art and it looks like being the only premium finish version globally

After those I think District 12 (FS) for its cool embossing style, IM (play.com), Braveheart (play.com), Drive (HMV) and Hurt Locker (UK) are all very worthy steels

Of course this could all change when Battle Royale is released by play and also possibly Oldboy too.

Hunger games D12 (FS) great embossing!
Ghost protocol (France) great embossing and even Tom cruise is embossed
Underworld awakening (FS) great artwork of miss beckinsale

It has to be The Raid for me, the debossing front and back is fantastic. That would be closely followed by The Terminator.

I will nominate later...but would love you to bring back the game that we used to play (+) and (-) on favourite steelbooks for 2012....maybe incorporate this list and add the "runners-up" for 2012... that one was won by Thor too!

I thought Underworld Awakening was amazing. Also, the European/Asian release of Snow White and the Huntsman
