Jezzus, Ill be glad when everybody realizes that these limited releases aint really sold out and will be ton of opportunity to order again when zavvi decides to let go of the rest of their stock come release date. Doesnt matter what day or time pre-orders start, it could be during an apocalypse, and Zavvi will show it sell out in 3hrs :hilarious:. Learn the game peeps, think about past releases and stop with all the ! Hell you probably get it cheaper when a code shows up with the remaining stock and cancellations.

You mean like with There Will Be Blood? Hang on...

There will be blood did come back in stock and lasted about half a day if I remember right. Hardly anybody panicked with that. Boy with Stripped PJ's came back and lasted a little over a week, nobody panicked to grab it even when its regard as an excellent steel. Pain and Gain was a "newish"(new to steelbook) release limited to 1000 copies so no really in the same league as these 2000 run catalougue titles. So yeah people will have more opportunities to order this and the others that sold out in 3hrs. We already know this.

I think that's the part I have the most trouble with. Random go-live times level the playing field for everyone & makes the hunt all the more challenging...but with an "ultra-limited" print run, why should multiple copy orders be allowed?

Got a friend who wants one? Great, let him work it out on his own like everyone else. Want one to have and one to open? Sorry, that's being selfish. Want 5 to scalp on e-bay? That's not collecting - that's gouging.

Partly sour grapes I'm sure, but I don't see how doubling down (or more) on one exclusive is "justice" for missing out on another, especially when it shuts other collectors out.

Not so much selfish...One to have & one to open is more of a luxury/prestige in this hobby. For me anyway. I started out hating the idea of not opening my Steelbooks, but when you get multiple editions of the same title, it doesn't make sense to open them all. When your clutching a kimchi, you think twice before tearing the plastic open. I ordered two copies of There Will Be Blood, both we're damaged but I managed to pick n' pull from both copies and get a cherry one. So there's that to factor in as well. And I got a refund for one so it worked out. Still got that severly damaged TWBB at the cost of shipping for any ninja.

There was no discount code, so neither title was cheaper and There Will Be Blood only lasted half a day, hardly a 'ton of opportunity'. Granted The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas lasted a while longer, but that one took four days to sell out initially, so it isn't a valid comparison to this. I'll be glad when people stop posting false information because they think they know something when in reality they don't.

In all reality no one really knows and everything is speculation

So you're saying people should not help their friends? You're the one being selfish,mate..

Hey guys, I am not sure why Zavvi decided to make this one live at this time-perhaps that is when staff was available to make it live, they were experimenting with different times etc or some other reasons. But from past retailer 'on sale'experiences, sometimes items go live with no advance notice whatsoever-and that's the case for most retailers. If they share any other info with us that can be publicly posted we will do so.

Wow, all this aggression over 3:10 Yuma? Wholey cow! From reading all these rants I would have thought everyone missed out on captain America 2 or something. Don't even want to know what that's gunna be like. I got my pre order in thanks to the Ninja Reminder. Love this forum.

Let's see, an awesome western with fantastic performances from Christian Bale, Russell Crowe, Ben Foster, etc. is released in a steelbook (limited to 2000) vs. yet another superhero steel that is guaranteed to be released in countless editions...I'm way more interested in 3:10 to Yuma.

But I'll probably get Captain America as well :emb:

This is a great movie. I'm not crazy about the steel though so I'm happy not ordering it just for the sake of it being "ultra limited."

Congrats to those who got it already and I'm sure there will be some cancellations eventually like always.

You telling me these arent most likely going to come back in stock and zavvi doesnt frequently offer discount codes? I didnt say you will definitely be able to order cheaper, I said, "hey maybe so". And a half a day opposed to 3hrs is a ton of oppurtunity. Especially if you missed out initially and really want the steel. So I dont know where you getting "false info" from besides me saying zavvi steels would sellout in an apocalypse lol.

I'm saying if they do come back into stock it will most likely be for a few hours and there almost certainly won't be a price drop or discount code that is valid on these. Half a day is not a long period of time. It is very easy to not have internet access for half a day and miss it. Anyone who takes notice of what you said is going to be left empty handed and very disappointed.

The half-day they come back online from like cancellations and stuff could still be while everyone's at work/away from a computer, though. Wasn't TWBB back on a Monday (admittedly around 5, but you get the idea)? It's probably not best to 100% invest yourself in that idea.

Seems like they finally found out if they limit these steelbooks more, they sell out really quick and they dont have to do price drop few months later. I wonder how long this lasts, until people get overrun by these extra limited releases.

Guys, whenever you wish to order a title that goes live, why not subscribe to the thread.

That way, you will be informed in due time to place your order of your wanted title.
