Shocking that ISTD is that close to Frozen BF. People need to take each steelbook out of the package and look at the steelbook. ISTD is above average at best. I dont see how it gets more votes that Army of Darkness. In fact I am shocked that Army of Darkness is getting so few votes. That is IMO the best steelbook to come out of the UK this year and is easily one of the best steelbooks worldwide in 2014

Will you be taking votes until 1/31/2015? I want to vote for the only one I might actually have in Iron Man blufans but want to wait and see when it comes in the mail by then. Slow year for me with steelbooks but it will pick up again I suspect after the first half of this year. Lol
Edit: could Iron Man blufans be nominated next year also? Lol Be awesome if it somehow won 2 years in a row. :D

I think the changing of guard is upon us. In the past amazing and deserving Steelbooks no doubt have one but I feel the combination of embossing and debossing were always major deciding factors. This year, according to the numbers above, and my thoughts going in, art and treatment have been given the leading roles!

The resurgence of the "Pure Steelbook Trend" that began a new with Kick-Ass 2 (UK) have put the basis of what truly matters back to the forefront. I hope one of the leading titles with those aforementioned attributes win! #THEWRESTLER #DRIVEMONDO #FROZENBLUFANS #ISAWTHEDEVIL #SBOTY

If more than one country, they are automatically listed as worldwide, because not exclusive to 1 country/retailer. Thanks

If that is the case then why is Maleficent listed as a Spanish release? I understand if the same Steelbook is released in dozens of countries but why can't the countries be listed if there are so few?

I guess it is the curse of the 'Steelbook of the Year' voting format. The ideal format would be one pick per member or a weighting system. It is possible that a Steelbook that no-one thought was the best Steelbook of the year could top the poll which is a bit ludicrous.

The thing that truly matters is the Steelbook not the funky slip or fancy art cards that go with it.

I forgot what the problem was the last time this is was mentioned. But I think having sub categories would benefit everybody's interest overall. One for a new title then a catalog title plus an animated film or even a Disney category as well. Then an overall winner to top it off. This will result in more winners with more happier folks than just having a one winner take it all and then the politics are of course brought in.

You have to perhaps take into account what people actually own.

I voted for Maleficent, and while it's probably not as good as either Army of Darkness or Iron Man, I don't own either of those. As for Frozen, the steelbook was poor no matter where you got it from once you took all the extra stuff off it. Anyway, each of us will have different criteria when it comes to voting.

And the nominees for Best Female Supporting Steelbook are:

**drumroll**

Frozen Blufans was not a poor SteelBook :D You're thinking of the one from Kimchi or Zavvi...

If the Worldwide release had a title (front and spine) and a nice glossy finish, it would blow the Blufans edition away. I think the Steelbook artwork for the Blufans edition is pretty boring and generic.

Folks, a quick note here. These nominations came from 'this' community. HDN has collectors of all tastes-whether they like releases with extras, cards, matching underwear, or swim goggles, or not. Some only look at art. Some only look at the film. Some keep them sealed, some open them up. Some make decisions to buy based on extras. All of those factors determine how the individual collector (what has always mattered at this site) perceives of their 'favorite' Steelbook releases. What that 'best' is for each person is completely different. The Steelbook releases have also changed in number and design/style. The nominations were telling as to what people liked this year, as they are every year. The 25 above received the most nominations over the course of 2 months of submitting noms. As in years before, your individual choices should be for your favorite overall Steelbook release of the year. Whether that comes with extras or not matters to the individual, and will never change, but everyone has the right to include those things in their consideration when voting. Have fun guys!
