Looks pretty nice in hand and is easily the nicest looking WWA Disney steel in a looooong time! Can't help but wonder how much nicer it would've been with gloss though.

Contrary to what we were led to expect looks like it's just the title spot glossed:-

Nice bit of classic Disney embossing though.

Looks nice but it should of been glossed or spot glossed.

I mean, if they can't spot gloss Stallone's veiny / roadmap forearms ... surely they could have done the same with Aladdin's lamp :banghead:

Got mine this morning, and I must say, I'm a bit deflated about this release. I was expecting more. I really wanted it for the 3d, but I was expecting it to be like Snow White, Tangled, Fox & The Hound etc. Frames, gloss, embossed etc. They were gorgeous steelbooks.... this is just ok. It's better than some, but not as good as it could have been.

I'm shocked that people are still "expecting" gloss and embossing on WWA steelbooks. Or even hoping for such a thing.
Once again, that's why they have premium retailers. You're going to have to spend more than what you spend on the WWA releases.

This is an excellent looking steelbook.

Steelbook does have spot gloss
The title is spot glossed

It would been better yes if lamp and rock also had been spot glossed but still is nice looking steelbook

Steelbook overall It's a satin finish not matte finish

Yes, like most folk received this today along with JW 3 . . . full embossing but ever so slightly disappointed that they didn't gloss the lamp which looks reasonably shiny in reality ...

... and even if they didn't gloss the artwork they could have at least made the effort and glossed the background a la INFINITY WAR-

I only found out recently how good that UK Infinity War steelbook is with the embossing and glossing (and I have a copy of it)
But I believe that will now be the rare exception going forward for any WWA first releases for new theatrical movies.

I agree. Disney don't want to do the full-gloss, OK, but the spot-gloss must be done correctly. Why the lamp and the rock are not gloss !? Seriously, why !? Are they incompetent ? Anyone would have chosen to varnish these elements. Disney always find a way to disappoint with his new movies in steelbook (international release). I finaly take the BestBuy edition...

Not full gloss is a real let down, the beautiful colour palette literally screamed gloss in order to bring out all the deep dark purples and blues, this is really disappointing. I actually feel like Disney are doing it on purpose at this point in order to force people to double dip and buy a premium one at a later point due to being so dissapointed with the initial release.
