I think the back could be better, but the way I see it, it's better to have a bit of a crappy back than no steel at all! I think we as collectors, sometimes forget distribution and film company's don't see things the way we do!

At leased we have a steel in stead of a ****** blue Amray case, with a nice back cover :) We still have the HDN Terminator steel to look forward to. This is gonna be a good year for steels in the UK!

I think the clean-ness of last week's wave along with the embossing/debossing has left people a bit disappointed with this one in particular.

In time though I'm sure we'll appreciate it as a very nice steel.

Totally agree! all things said it could be a lil' bit better, but like you say it's good that many movies we've wanted for a while are now getting the SB treatment. I'm still loving the front so I'm pretty happy anyway :D

Yes even though last weeks Universal 'landscape' releases weren't to everyone's taste (with regards to them not being in portrait form), with regards to design, debossing and clean layout, I guess there was an assumption that this next wave would surpass (aesthetically) last weeks.

Still early days of course, I'm looking forward to seeing mine a bit later :scat:

The original shot in OP, that we have, has text on it as well so it was not totally out of the question that the final one would have some. As an Alien fan I would have liked to see the text removed, but it looks like Fox decided to have a slightly different layout for the back. For me, I am a bit bummed, but I think with this black design and inside art, this will remain one of my faves from this wave. Play is really burning things up recently in pushing for some of the coolest Exclusives I've seen-I look forward to seeing what else may be in store... :naughty: :scat:

Thanks for the photos dwt1982! ;)
Ok, so of course would be better if the back of this steelbooks was clean, without any specification of the various parts of this series, but personally I think that is very well anyway. First of all finally we have steelbook not metal case or something for all this classics with beautiful front facehugger artwork (not embossed/debossed, but hey no one said that this will be, indeed for me it does not matter) and what is important with internal artwork. We not have two discs with extras, but with them it would probably not be released in steelbook and I am sure that most of us already have some 6 disc edition, so I do not see a problem here too.
Getting back to rear artwork, without specification would be better but for me this is not much important in this case because it itself this rear artwork with or without this is simply poor in their graphic design (only end of the facehugger tail and feets), so we do not lose too much :p In summary i'm happy that I ordered this edition, I can not wait to have it in my hands :D

I agree. The other art might have been better, but this one still seems to have a better overall execution compared to like the matrix German Trilogy. This still has inside art, plus the wrap around effect of the face hugger. I would personally rather have seen an all clean back with no writing ... so whether the writing is mashed up at bottom or vertical I dont know how much of a difference it would make upon my eyes. Still a great looking steel for those Alien lovers.

I am so glad all of these are either all regions or at the very least A + B

Sorry to tell you but it appears "Taken" is only region B and C from what I read. Its the only one though that isn't region A from this wave.

On the topic of this steel I know we shouldn't complain given the price of this steel and the overall wave is pure awesomeness but still I can't help but feel disappointed on the writing on the back. This is what ruined the Matrix DE Trilogy steel for me as well. The lower quarter with art is fine but not on the whole back. At that point its just a printed back with art in the back sort of deal.

Cover looks beautiful though and continuing back art from the front (that they covered with writing :angry:) reminds of the Fast Five steel from DE 1st release that forms the front of a car when you open it up.

I could care less about the back of the steelbook. I never look at the back anyway. I display my prized ones face forward. Just look at Wanted. Its got a horrible back cover, but it is one of the most prized steels around.

The minute this one goes OOS people will bid it up. :hilarious:

I didn't pick up taken so I didn't check it. I therefore amend my statement to all of the ones I bought were either A or B.

As to this particular one, honestly the text doesn't bother me and while debossing would be nice ultimately I just got 4 movies (I do not currently own any aliens movies) for a good price in a steelbook and that steelbook overall looks good. And doesn't seem to be having the quality control issues as the new WB US wave.

No complaints here! :oohyeah:

so, they can fit in 4 disc on a G2 steelbook. it's time for godfather steelbook, or LOTR extended each title :D sorry Out Of Topic :p

by the time Prometheus hit theaters, this sb will be long gone, i hope :p
