Ready to play this again…

I just realized this October will be it's 10th anniversary, I wish they released a anniversary edition, one of the greatest survival horror games!

This game was the reason why many people lost all trust in IGN reviews, one of the worst takes in reviewing history.
The guy had no idea how to play it so he gave it a bad review and got destroyed in the comments, I always go back to this review to have a laugh :shipped:
Remember can't spell ignorant without IGN

I'm now wondering what's so divisive in the last part of the movie...
Probably something like in Alien Resurrection, with the baby mutant alien. Which I loved, just like the entire film!

Yeah, there was too much fan service (especially in the delivery of THAT line - which was totally nonsensical) but I still enjoyed the heck out of it

I’ll put this in a spoiler. Trying not to ruin too much but if you genuinely want to know without me mentioning specifics you can read it if you want

For the majority a certain part has divided fans. Seems like most older fans (possibly?) don’t like that it includes a certain character in this film from the original film and inside that some don’t like how it’s done (or how it looks - trying not to ruin too much) and that the movie leans into Prometheus quite heavily.

Whereas fans of Prometheus are happy with these certain inclusions.

I’ve seen the end being divisive for a few reasons for either being too violent or disturbing (personally I don’t think it is at all) or because it leans into Prometheus and pays respect to resurrection which to me was awesome

This is really cool for anyone who’s seen the film. I’ll add it in a spoiler

Personally I love this if it’s true. Because it means that they’ve had Ripley since they got the alien from the first film and that she wasn’t missing for 50 odd years before the events of Aliens which in honesty it don’t make sense the company wouldn’t know where she is if they already know what happened on that planet. Especially as we know how Weyland Yutani are. But being ejected from that ship in Romulus when everything goes wrong as a maybe automated protocol and then going missing for 20 something years seems so much more believable to me in this world and lore. I know people hate retconning etc but I think that’s much cooler and believable

That's fantastic imo... I was thinking of going again and this has pushed me to, just to try and catch it!

Also, in an interview released this week with Fede Alvarez, he confirms you can see the Narcissus hanging vertical in the room behind Isabela Merced's character is separated from the group - during the scene when Andy won't open the door

glad that it made $200M, watched it twice already one in IMAX and one in regular theater, loved it!
Cailee and David were fantastic, especially David, he gave so much empathy & depth in his performance...

can't wait to watch it at home, heard about Fede mentioned about try to keep the IMAX aspect ratio for home video, we'll see what's going to happen, don't forget this is house mouse...

Absolute banger of a film. Loved it. Paid homage to all the films and made something completely accessible to new audiences. I took my (just turned) 15 year old daughter and we both walked out at the end and said "that was Brilliant!"
Very rare these days.
Alvarez has nailed it.
9 out 10

Btw. It's definitely could have been an 18 rated. How on earth this passed as a 15 I'll never know. Very lenient.
Super thrilling.
Super scary.
Super film.

Went again in isense (first time Dolby)

Held up remarkably well on second watch. Enjoyed it just as much and noticed many new things!

Mostly I was very suprised how my nerves were still shredded on a second viewing haha I knew everything was coming but still found it thoroughly enjoyable & thrilling!

I did pick up on a few places where they've cut it together from Fedes original runtime (offscreen dialogue to interlink clear missing scenes). I'm hoping the success means we get an extended cut tbh. Can't wait to see what the premiums/special editions will be like for this!

Also, If it's not nominated for the Oscar for the sound it'll be criminal! Difficult for this type of movie to get recognition but it thoroughly deserves it!

Surely it's got to be recognised for those practical SFX. Maybe Make-Up and Costume as well.
Such a superb cinema experience. Built for a decent screen and audio setup.
My local is garbage, I made sure to travel to a much newer and better equipped cinema.
Half the poor experiences I've had in the last few years are down to aging movie theatres. A lot in the UK could do with some love.
