I think I went gift with a value of $20 off the top of my head - that what I normally go for

Putting it down to a few weeks of bad luck and hoping the lovely people at customs will forget about me soon :ohno:

HMRC only consider it a gift if it's sent from one private individual to another.

If it's obviously been sent from a retailer, and is marked as a gift, they will more than likely take a look at it, and, if they don't believe the declared value, they can estimate it themselves.

I'm in the secondary market for one'o these. What is the problem with the corners you speak of? Thanks.
As you can see on my picture (reply #1328) all the corners have some scratches (specially the ones on the right sides of the steelbook). Very odd because the steelbook was very well bubble-wrapped, probably a manucfatory problem.

I couldn't see anything on the picture because it was just a thumbnail on my screen? Thanks for the reply though.

Looks like manufacture problems like reported for Anchorman 2 ES UK steelbook. My Korean contact already told me about these problems and that also many 47 Ronin steelbooks are affected.

I was seriously considering buying the full slip cover version of this, partly to see what all the fuss is about; but seeing the damage pics makes me realize they are just as liable to send damaged goods as are any of the others I mostly deal with - Amazon, Zavvi etc. - only it would be a total pain to return goods to Korea for exchange!

Added to that, the finish (quite apart from the damage) I see here is no better, and probably poorer than some of the best of the generic ones, or Zavvi exclusives - and that's not bashing, that's the truth.

Just not worth the risk.

Just finished watching this for the first time! Absolutely loved it, I was 10 minutes in and I decided I need to open a bottle of French Red Wine, what an amazing little gem of a movie, beautiful!

:boobies:

It is a great movie. I actually got to see it at the movies. It was playing at the Art Theater in Long Beach when it first came out. My friend was trying to grab people off the street because they needed so many people or they would cancel the showing. They ended up with just enough people.

I'm glad I bought an extra (well, 2 extras) of this. It's one of the nicest steelbooks yet IMHO.
