I can understand what you are asking (The Pianist has English subtitles on for the whole duration of the film when English subtitles are selected, not just for the German dialogue).

That behaviour is not an "error" for a Korean release, or for any other country's release where English is not the main official language.

For a UK (or US, CA, AU, ...) release I would expect to see English subtitles on by default for the foreign dialogue only, when subtitles are off.

Even for an UK release, I'd expect to see English subtitles on for the whole film, if I explicitly select English subtitles. I've watched a lot of UK Blu-ray films with English subtitles on, and that's how they have always behaved. There could be exceptions, but I just haven't seen them.

I can certainly appreciate that English subtitles are distracting and unwanted for somebody whose native language is English, e.g., for most of the dialogue in The Pianist, but I think it's unrealistic to expect these partial English subtitles from a Korean release.

But to Amelie; how would this "English subtitle error" manifest itself in a French language film?

I didn't know want the so called 'error' was until I read a lot of the threads here earlier where people are calling it an error when all it is as you say is that it plays English subtitles well that's what happens even if i press subtitles on the tv. I am not sure now why people use the word error.

Ah well what I meant. Does this also have English subtitles but I have also read it does.

Moving on, which is the nicest version??

I've finally received both my copies (one had to be replaced as it disappeard somewhere along the way). Is it just me who have received copies with tons of surface/varnish scratches? I even have a vertical scratch through Amelie's face. I've got other glossy steelbooks, but this is the two worst cases yet. Really disappointing

Can anyone tell me which is the one to get of those who are in stock again? And what are the chances/risks getting extra costs for customs etc. if you live in Europe?
Only the fullslip type A, the lenticular type C and the non-exclusive are still available. I have the lenticular C and am very happy with it, but of course it's down to personal preference. There are probably some photos from members posted earlier in the thread to help you decide.

Custom charges are always a risk but I've been lucky so far. Kimchi have an option during the checkout process where you can amend the description and value of your purchase. I usually choose 'merchandise' with a value of $20 rather than the 'gift' option. Hope this helps :).

I am interested how it is possible that they are coming back after such long time...
However i suppose it is possible...
...if this is possible: 0000/1500.
It means that there are at least 1501 pcs :wtf:
