Special announcement, April 15 2014
hey guys, official announcement from ES.

Hi,

Thank you for pre-ordering the Anchorman 2 SteelBook with the Entertainment Store.

We have received advanced copies of the product and have noticed that through the manufacturing process there has been a small amount of stretching on the corners of the SteelBook. We have been assured by the manufacturer of the SteelBook, Scanavo, that this is a manufacturing trait associated with the high gloss finished that has been used. Please see link below for an image of the stretching.

Whilst this is a manufacturing trait we do appreciate that for some customers this could potentially be a problem. We are contacting you ahead of shipping the product to highlight this trait to give you the opportunity to change your mind on your order before we ship you the product.

We will of course accept all returns and provide a full refund if you are unsatisfied with the product once your receive it in line with our standard terms and conditions.

Thank you for your custom,

The Entertainment Store

I really like the design of this, but like everyone else - £26 for a non-3d steelbook is just too much. I really liked the WWZ exclusive they had, but didn't wanna pay the £27 or whatever it was when it came out, hoped it would slowly reduce but obviously that never happened (granted that does have 3d)...

Yes I also agree that ES ist getting somewhat "greedy" on the pricing ...but im sure they have to do a high price for it to make up for those that wont be selling (the rest of supply)

ES has been though in my opinon in the past one of the more competitive REtailers for UK steelbooks , the pricing was always fair until now.

Maybe it might drop ? Don't know but im sure it wont go OOP anytime too soon ...

Take care
john

ps. and with the US picking up on production im sure also the quality will be getting better , meaning inside artwork or some extra touches to the steelbook finish here and there .

This should be 9.99 at most, they are trying to rip you off to make up on the losses from the releases that haven't sold too well. Anyone who orders this at that price must have more money than sense. This will be on amazon prime video in no time at all I'll wait tiil then thanks

9.99 is pushing it man even back catalogue titles arent that. Personally i think 17-18 would be just right

This Steelbook looks lovely and deserves some credit for being a bit more unique regarding finish than most other steels that come out. Very sure it'll look awesome in hand.

Pretty much 10 pages of posts exactly the same as the one before it is getting a bit boring! Price doesn't look like changing but the conversation probably should.

If price is an issue then maybe this release isn't for you. There are plenty of other titles coming out and already available catering to collectors on a budget. Just a thought...

Love the cover art for this. It's a shame play.com doesn't ship to the US. I guess I'll have to get it from ebay with the tacked on prices lol.

Just watched the Supersized R Rated cut and can now gladly say I like the film. Saw it in the cinema and was less than impressed, saw the unrated cut and was still unimpressed. Saw the R-Rated cut and really enjoyed it, it's a much better edit of the film and less forced and crude. I'll now buy the Blu-ray for that cut alone.

I know it's probably been asked again and again, but does this release have the Supersized cut and the same extras as the US release?

10 pages of people complaining about the price is still 10 pages if people being unhappy with this release. If it were 10 pages of people loving a product would you ask for Ninjas to stop and let someone complain for the sake of variety?

A forum is a forum, here's hoping ES are taking note...

It's gonna be kinda tedious waiting for this to come down to a reasonable price. It's so expensive to start with that it's probably going to take at least 2 big price drops for me to take the plunge. So it's probably going to be summer 2015 when I can actually buy it!

It really is crazy, I mean just look at the original Anchorman steelbook on Zavvi - even at £9.99 it still hasn't sold out (and the original is generally considered the better film).

(Sorry for adding another price related moan :p)
