Special announcement, April 15 2014
hey guys, official announcement from ES.

Hi,

Thank you for pre-ordering the Anchorman 2 SteelBook with the Entertainment Store.

We have received advanced copies of the product and have noticed that through the manufacturing process there has been a small amount of stretching on the corners of the SteelBook. We have been assured by the manufacturer of the SteelBook, Scanavo, that this is a manufacturing trait associated with the high gloss finished that has been used. Please see link below for an image of the stretching.

Whilst this is a manufacturing trait we do appreciate that for some customers this could potentially be a problem. We are contacting you ahead of shipping the product to highlight this trait to give you the opportunity to change your mind on your order before we ship you the product.

We will of course accept all returns and provide a full refund if you are unsatisfied with the product once your receive it in line with our standard terms and conditions.

Thank you for your custom,

The Entertainment Store

^nice pics my Ninjettè's!

Can i ask you a question NoDings?

Your collection looks fantastic, but why do you have to post a pic on nearly all of your posts?

No offence meant.

Oh, fo-sho!

Thank you my good man, that's kind of you to say...

:hilarious:

I post pictures with all of my posts because:
A) it's not so boring as just saying "blah blah, blah!"
B) pictures say a 1,000 words and you can't fit that many words into a post
C) to showcase my fantastic collection!!!
D) why not?
F) where else would I post pics of my collection?

Nice, but wrong thread ;)

I meant, that in regards to this particular ES release, which looks very nice, Im glad I held off on this edition and didn't double dip this title. Because I was on the fence about buying it for a while. Im happy with just the Walmart edition, as this doesn't bring anything new to the table. Adding also that the double feature aspect of the Walmart edition influenced my decision to buy it, as opposed to holding off and waiting for this.

IMO this ES edition artwork would go better with the wood grain Zavvi Edition which I also have. But double feature Steelbooks really 'do it' :naughty: for me & saves some precious shelf space

Example I have and love:
*kill bill 1&2 Zavvi
*gindhouse German ?
*anchor man 1&2.

Looking to add more double features steels to my collection

Don't worry bud, I know what you meant ;)

I'm the opposite and will always go for singles where possible. Except for tri-packs of course :)

Mine arrived today and I must say, this is an awesome looking Steelbook. ES have done a great job! Unfortunately upon close inspection, mine has a slight paint chip on the bottom of the front. I've Emailed ES asking for a replacement, has anyone here had any dealings with ES and damaged Steelies?

This doesn't seem to be showing up on Play anymore. Surely it can't have sold out already?

Maybe it is due to go in the daily deal for today (as ES have taken down even their amaray copies of Anchorman 2 as well)? That would be good news for all those that were on the fence I suppose but kind of crappy for anyone that pre-ordered despite the minor issue.

Guess we'll see what happens.

When I checked on Monday I could still add 999 to my basket, so who knows what's going on.

They've also taken off sale World War Z and the Star Trek Into Darkness Villain Edition/Toy Set. When there were plenty of both available at the end of last week.

Maybe they got a backlash about the defect once people actually had it in hand and have removed it for now?

A price change to reflect that would be welcome.....

Yes they did have plenty of all these titles 3 days ago - :naughty:

And....still no price drop :(

If there really is only 997 left of the 4,000 print run, then I doubt they'll lower the price any time soon. They've been very rigid with the pricing on World War Z and that's been out for over 6 months with no price drops - granted I know there's no known production 'defect' and that's 3D too. I can't imagine that they'd want the complaints of potentially 3,000 sold copies to deal with.

I guess we'll see.

Can't see the price dropping if they've sold 3000 already.

Well I find it absolutely incredible that they've sold so many at that price with no particular justification for that price point. I did buy WWZ as it had 3D & it was a bigger & better film so that did go some way toward justifying that price - though that certainly wasn't cheap either.

I've got to draw the line somewhere as I can't afford every steelbook that comes out. It's just a shame for me personally as I would have liked this in my collection, particularly as I have the first film in steelbook and wanted this to go with it. But at £16 more than I paid for the Anchorman one steel it seems that I'm going to be priced out of this one...the first time that's happened on price alone.

If people want to pay this then fair play to them, and it certainly looks like I'm in the minority with my view on this. I just don't understand why the same people that usually wait for a price sweet spot decided that, even at £26, this one was a day one purchase :dunno:
