Hi,

Thank you for pre-ordering the Anchorman 2 SteelBook with the Entertainment Store.

We have received advanced copies of the product and have noticed that through the manufacturing process there has been a small amount of stretching on the corners of the SteelBook. We have been assured by the manufacturer of the SteelBook, Scanavo, that this is a manufacturing trait associated with the high gloss finished that has been used. Please see link below for an image of the stretching.

Whilst this is a manufacturing trait we do appreciate that for some customers this could potentially be a problem. We are contacting you ahead of shipping the product to highlight this trait to give you the opportunity to change your mind on your order before we ship you the product.

We will of course accept all returns and provide a full refund if you are unsatisfied with the product once your receive it in line with our standard terms and conditions.

The Entertainment Store is pleased to announce our latest exclusive Steelbook release: Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.

This 2 blu-ray disc set features not only the UK theatrical cut (longer than the US theatrical cut) but also the “alternate jokes” cut which was released in cinemas on 14th February, plus bags of extras – it’s kind of a big deal.

Artwork and finish details:

• World Exclusive Artwork (WEA)
• Full gloss finish
• Embossed title treatment (front)
• Embossed Ron Burgundy (back)*
• Limited to 4,000 copies

It's hard to see a retailer come forth with something like this. This deserves props, not many retailers would come up and say "hey there's a defect on the product" type of message. You just have to appreciate that kind of honesty. Look at it on the bright side, now you know there's a problem and you have a choice to still buy it or not.

Well I never even got the email? Like we've all said its great that they had the decency to be upfront about the defect but surely they would/should have to tell us if a product
was defective before selling it anyway so it counts for nothing. Just because they've said "sorry" doesn't give them the excuse to still sell this at a ridiculous price, WEA or not!

Mad props to ES for disclosing it beforehand, but honestly why is Scanavo ok with accepting this defect. They make so much money now with the amount of steel book they produce worldwide why can't they fix the problem. I remember reading in a thread for a black steelbook (I forget which one) that they have defects because its black glossy. I had a nice laugh about that one. Also, somebody needs to budge on the price... whether it be ES or Scanavo or the studio or something.

Well still going ahead with my preorder but just saying that given the issue a little compensation would have been a nice gesture, I'm sure they'll get something from Scanova. It's only my two cents as it were, no need to be funny about it, that is the point of a forum after all

Got an email this morning saying they had cancelled my order because of not being able to process a payment. This is what happens when you have pre-orders so close to the end of the month.. haha.

Got an email this morning saying they had cancelled my order because of not being able to process a payment. This is what happens when you have pre-orders so close to the end of the month.. haha.

Do you not get charged by your bank each time this happens? I cancelled mine anyhow, I'll wait to see how it turns out and if the defect is really an issue or not. I'm expecting it to be great but the price is too high for anything other than a top quality release, so I'm not going to risk it.

I only get charged if they take a payment that then takes over my overdraft limit - in this case there were no funds in the account so it didn't process. But I've sorted it now.

I'm still getting it - I've got the zavvi steel of the first one - I guess I'm somewhat of a completist!

I basically came to the same conclusion as Snooloui though... and with a bit of luck this will drop in price eventually anyway.

You'd have to be pretty dumb to pay £26 in the first place, now there's a reported defect you'd have to be totally crazy to still pay that.

Just reduce the price already and stop being so greedy ES

I had to choose between this and Zavvi's version for the first movie, or just go ahead and buy Walmart's exclusive. Love what ES has done for this release, the artwork's great! But, just decided it was too expensive and went ahead with Walmart.

Post hasn't been yet but i'm not expecting it until at least tomorrow.. Should definitely have it by Monday - I know the aim to despatch so it's there at release day.
