I don't really have a lot of movies, I have a few series.

Samurai 7
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Part 1 & 2
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shambala
Devil May Cry

I am want the following :p

Eureka 7
Witch Hunter Robin
Trigun
Speed Grapher
Original Fullmetal Alchemist series :)
Probably Naruto as well lol

There's probably more that I can't think of at the moment.

Been spending the last few years watching Naruto so I am not about to give that up. I have about 100 episodes to go through since I stopped watching a bout a year ago so I can just watch a ton of it lol. Bleach the same but I haven't had time to get on it.

Just finished the last OVA of Karas, pretty tough to follow since it has a weird mixture of 3D like effects and hand drawn animation. I have plenty of series on my HDD, some of which I haven't even seen yet. Gundam 0 was the only Gundam series I liked too.

I knew I had forgotten quite a few lol.

I have Samurai Champloo on BD and FFVII on BD, the rest are digital. Samurai Champloo was one of my favorites, especially the episode where they go into a village where they grow weed and they start a fire haha everyone is high trying to kill each other. :hilarious:

Robotech, is that the original series? I would like the Japanese original, Americans tampered with it to show it here and I didn't like it one bit.

What other series have you watched?

That one was odd. I couldn't finish it really. My interest level just fell through. I have plenty of Anime in several HDDs too :p

ive been saving up to buy a raid setup... 7tb's is too much to lose... im just sitting on hopes that nothing fails...

LOL a raid setup? Like raid 5 or something?

I once lost 300GB of anime, sad day. Took me about two weeks to get again. So you didn't Luke ghost in the shell 2? Is that the movie with just Gatou?

I am totally new to Anime, but purchased a few series when Best Buy was killing the Anime area at a bunch of stores. I've always been interested in checking it out, but just never got around to it. I generally like the futuristic, apocalyptic type stuff, and some people have suggested some series to me. I am totally new-any "staples" that are corner stones of the genre, that I should consider to start?

A lot of folks always recommend Evangelion. I never finished it :p.

There's plenty of dramatic and futuristic robotic stuff. Plenty of violent gory stuff too :p.

My all time favorite is fullmetal alchemist for its dramatic and engrossing story.

ive cried during anime, i rarely cry during movies.... then again i cry while watching kitchen nightmares so idk my empathy levels are ridiculous lol...

FMA:B is my 2nd favorite anime of all time, i never watched the original ive only seen brotherhood which is the new series (a remake of the OG FMA but closer to the manga story line)

Thanks guys! I cried at the end of Grave of the Fireflies, a film that was recommended to me by a few people online. I think they do an amazing job conveying emotion, in Anime-even given the small amount I've watched.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is a 64 episode series... I dont know how you others watch tv / series but i like to watch anywhere from 3-10 episodes in a clip lol

@xerios fma was simply excellent. I haven't seen brotherhood until I have enough to watch. Maybe until I have part 5 ill start.

@DB you'd think that wouldn't be the case with cartoons eh? There's some funny stuff out there like GTO, Chobits, Death angel dorukun (I'll double check the name), fullmetal panic, etc. To name a few.

My favorites :

Old animes :
- Saint Seiyaaaaaaaaaa
- Hokuto no Ken
- Captain Tsubasa
- Mask
- Dragon ball
- Sherlock Holmes (with speaking dogs :))
- Dragon Quest

"New" animes :
- Claymore (great !!!)
- Black Lagoon
- Witchblade
- Elfen Lied
- Black cat
- Fate stay night (great too)
- Dragon drive (very nice and cute story)
- Chobits
- Fruit baskets (very funny)

Edit: and Love Hina ;)

I like watching a lot of episodes can't be bothered with weekly stuff anymore! :p

im guilty of downloading from subbers and then buying it when its out... sometimes you just cant wait..

thats why i liked Samurai 7 and Samurai Champloo, i bought them as complete series and didnt have to wait for this part 1-5 nonsense

Horhay-yes, I love Animated films, like many international ones, or Pixar and things that just stir my emotions. But since many things are computer animated now, I am REALLY touched when 2D stuff tugs at my heart. Maybe a reminder of a simpler time of animation. I've heard of some of the series you are mentioning. I stumbled into some "silly" stuff and didn't like it (though I love comedies sometimes, etc), but it just didn't appeal to me. I may have just been watching the wrong thing. As with "real" movies, I prefer the original language to the dubs, too.

I'll have to check a few of these out.....

I, too like to watch multiple episodes....

How could I forget Saint Seiya, that's my ultimate favorite, although I only like it in Japanese or Spanish (Latin American). Captain Tsubasa was great back in the day. I never got to see the 2000 series.

A lot of anime is hard to get here in the US right away, i download from subbers too DB is good, but ANBU subs were by far the best I've seen.

Saint Seiya is my all-time favorite anime too.
I have seen each episode at least 50 times... When I find one of them on TV, my wife is always open-mouthed, watching me saying all the characters text with them :p

And yes, the anime has to be watched with the jamaese audio ! :)
"Rozan Sho Ryu Ha !"
"Pegasus Ryu Sei Keeen !"
"Phoenix Genma Ken !" :D

Just a bit disappointed that my Gold Saint, the one I would have been with my date of birth, is the worst looser of all times... :(:(:(
