My Future Shop edition includes the DVD version; nevertheless, Zavvi's version is much nicer. After seeing this release, Django, etc. I don't think I'll be buying a FS steelbook for a long time. I'll stick to waiting a little longer and buying European ones since that seems to be the best place.

That looks stunning! I'm not so much into steelbooks with embossed borders, but that one looks amazing.

And thanks Wreck for posting the audio specs in the OP

Very surprised to see mine arrived today too!

Well done to Zavvi as this is a fantastic steelie!!

Looks like a huge success this Argo steelbook.

I hope Warner Uk are listening. Maybe wreck can have a word.

Please Warner, in future, no more sub par steelbooks with matte finish, horrible print (I.e premium collection, really what's so premium about them?) and missing inside artwork or printed backs.

This is what the steelbook collective would like to purchase from you.

Arrived today. Looks really good. Didn't think there would be a bossed border so that's nice. Received my dispatch for The Town and. Haven't received it but received no dispatch for Argo and its arrived early lol. Confusing.

I agree, well i think we all agree. That said i would just like to add that i never really understood why they print Made in Denmark in the lower left corner and those numbers in lower right corner, it has nothing to do with movies and that can be printed on j-cards

This one smokes the FS version. Cant wait to see it in hand.

Prepare to be disappointed, the finish on the FS is far superior. The cover on the Zavvi is much darker, so detail is lost, and the embossing adds nothing to it. The embossed border slopes outwards so that central debossed section is higher than the outer edges of the embossed border :(

It would have looked better with the title debossed and no border.

Sorry. The problem is no one knows how the Steelbook would have looked if it had a glossy finish.

Matte is not good on Steelbooks which are meant to shine and project details. It is good on anti-glare Televisions.

Some people like matte finishes though, personally I prefer the high gloss but not everyone does. I think it's good some are matte and some are glossy, it would be pretty boring if everything was done in gloss.

This is is a lovely steelbook with minimal debossing. I haven't opened it yet is it matte or gloss.

And interior paintwork, no one has gloss these days it's all eggshell.

I agree with that. The inside edge of the embossed border is higher than the edge of the Steelbook. It isn't that noticeable, but I can't help thinking it will easily be damaged when placing on or removing from a shelf.

It's nice Steelbook overall. Warner can produce nice Steelbooks when they try (unlike Fox who rarely do). I hope this is the start of a partnership between Zavvi and Warner as I would love to see some more Warner titles get similar treatment (Blood Diamond, Ocean's Trilogy, The Prestige, Training Day etc).

One last thing, I like the slipcover/J-card (or should it be J-paper?), but why do they insist on using glue? Withnail & I used no glue and not only did it not make any difference to the product when it was sealed, it made it really easy to remove. It's also a lot easier to store the J-card. I wish every studio didn't use glue. If anything has to be used, then those stick tape tabs are the next best thing.

Damn I didnt know it was going to look this good. I may have to get rid of my FS on to fund this. And its a Warner steel.
Just imagine the Nolan Batman trilogy with this quality. I would quadripple dip for 3x normal price.

I think I would double dip on the Nolan Batman trilogy if they got these treatment. Studios need to realise that a little bit of extra quality can mean a lot more sales. It probably costs them a few pence more per title, but for us collectors, it is a World of difference :scat:
