I dont know how long I will do this, or if people have questions ... but I'll check this thread daily in case people have questions about steelbooks etc. I'll try to answer to the best of my ability from what I am allowed to say in some cases or just info you may not have seen me drop before in past threads.

Why are so many titles released on the same day (3rd June)?

I think it'll help everyone out including Zavvi.

I can understand all Indiana's coming out on the same day, but surely it would make a lot more sense to move the others forwards or backwards by a week or two?

I totally agree as having so many steelbooks released on the same day is just ridiculous for everyone really.

I just feel sorry for all these postmen who are going to have to deliver all these steelbooks around June 3rd as they're all going to have some serious backache ......

More common sense from Zavvi would be much appreciated .

if you could pass on that having an Iron Man 1 and Iron Man 2 steelbook would be good for those of us that missed the Play exclusive. I'm not suggesting a direct reprint (Star Trek) but an alternate version.

Also, I couldn't see anything so I apologise if this has already been covered, but in light of Iron Man 3 being released in cinemas shortly, and you being connected with Zavvi, if you could pass on that having an Iron Man 1 and Iron Man 2 steelbook would be good for those of us that missed the Play exclusive. Can you have a word with Entertainment Store UK. If they could do a deal with EIV they have some great titles which would put there name on the map. Blade, Mask etc.

Wreck - Quite alarmed to hear that Zavvi are stopping sending to the US! Any word that they will stop International/Outside of EU shipping? Bad news if so.

Hey Wreck, something very lacking in steelbook releases is TV Shows: True Blood, Breaking Bad, Lost, Supernatural, Vamp Diaries, Star Trek (yay for Amazon.de), Sons of Anarchy, Dexter. The list is endless really and people WILL pay to have them. And now we can fit 4 discs into a G2 there's really no reason we can't have them.....

I agree ... but I think for it to be less of a risk they need to start with Season 1's ... so people can follow/buy along. I'm most certain what holds them back is the cost .. the price is usually set very high and that turns off a lot of product buyers. What amazes me is why dont they utilize the BD disc capacity and just stick it all on one disc to make the price cheaper. Granted I'm not talking about seasons with 200 shows etc. But you get the point. I've seen a lot of tv show requests over the years.

no info. But fyi ... if I did have info that doesn't mean I could be the first to announce in here ... but in this case, its easy to be honest and not get in trouble when you really have no info. ;p

Maybe a very small doing....... but I think Zavvi realized what the collectors here wanted and were going to make some changes in some which way regardless. I just sent some friendly reminders on some things.

And last but not least ......... and most important I'd say ... last week I got in touch with contacts around the world in regards to the spine slash problem starting to show its face again .... way too much. So the battle is on ... and they are working hard on contacting those "places" involved to try and put a stop to this again. I believe Asia was the only one pretty much exempt from spine slashes but if you got Asian territory steels with slashes then shoot me a PM.

Just wanted to know the reasoning behind a lot of the recent releases having the same artwork worldwide, is this a studio issue or is it that the shops are just getting lazy. There has been a lot recently with big films like Skyfall, Dark Knight Rises, Jack Reacher, Captain America etc. It will be far more appealling to us collectors if we could get different artwork for future release, I know it can be done look at the french Gollum release for The Hobbit!!

Wreck, I posted this in the zavvi thread but I'l try here do you know if the seven psychopaths steelbook will be packaged in the new packaging since its a new release or is there a chance it could be sent out in the old packaging as I heard they still need to use that stuff, Iv'e been looking forward to this release so don't want any of the old packaging crap,thx

Call them global runs ... they share off the same print run thus saving money. Kinda been like that for over 2 years now ... you'll always have exclusive stuff mixed in ... It does help many prioritize which to buy as its easier to obtain something that was a global run later on.

IN hand pics getting posted there today. (in its thread) Will have to follow up on the packaging ... but I presume new.
