I dont know how long I will do this, or if people have questions ... but I'll check this thread daily in case people have questions about steelbooks etc. I'll try to answer to the best of my ability from what I am allowed to say in some cases or just info you may not have seen me drop before in past threads.

Hey Wreck, I've always found it odd that Amazon.com never seem to do Steelbook exclusives like .co.uk, .jp, .fr and .de. Why is this? Apathy or they don't want to stump up the cash for a run?

hi wreck, i remember you saying that slash spines were mostly taken care of, but i've been seeing many steelbooks from all over the world with slashed spines lately

for some of these, the slash is underneath the shrinkwrap, which hints that these defects are not the fault of the retailer

do you know if scanavo is aware of this issue and if they are trying to fix it, thanks

Yeah its sadly been ages ... 3 James Bond steels way back in what ... 2008? Geez. Its another uphill battle I'm working on but I need to get the right contact and its never easy at very big companies.

Used to blame the employees myself, but I've came to realize they don't know what they are opening, the boxes are not labeled "steelbooks". And well, if I was to open hundred of boxes everyday, I would probably end up using whatever's gonna help me doing it the fastest.

Hi Wreck, any chance of Zavvi releasing Wreck-it Ralph or is it wise to join the group buy for the Blufans version? I don't want to try and take a spot in the group buy if it's going to get released elsewhere as I open all of my Steelbooks and would rather leave the Blufans that prefer to keep them sealed as i'm sure they would appreciate it more than me

Hi Wreck, any idea if Zavvi will be releasing Team America or GI Joe Steelbooks that Play.com were going to release?

I finally deleted Team America from my wishlist because it was never available to order. I've heard this is a good movie and would like to see it released. Is this steel DOA?

Hi Wreck, great informative thread, I tip my hat to you. Are the latest Paramount Centenary additions to Zavvi classed as new releases. In other words will they be sent from the warehouse with the new packaging or from one of the warehouses using the old packaging?

hi wreck are universal still going to be releasing steelbooks in the UK as films like zero dark thirty and les miserables haven’t showed up yet and no waves either

Not sure ... all the ones they had on the site prior to 2 weeks ago are most likely old packaging. Small chance the remainder play stock buyout might go to warehouse with good packaging. I hope so tho...

Hi, Wreck - I really enjoy this thread. I was wondering if Jack Reacher is going to get a North American steelbook release? I'd love to have a backup to the Blufans, but the Czech, Singapore and UK exclusive releases just seem too pricey. Wither Futureshop???
