I dont know how long I will do this, or if people have questions ... but I'll check this thread daily in case people have questions about steelbooks etc. I'll try to answer to the best of my ability from what I am allowed to say in some cases or just info you may not have seen me drop before in past threads.

Sorry if this has been asked b4:

Who decides the overall ww run on a title? The studio? ...or the number of "me too" retailers asking to promote their own "exclusive" version of a fundamentally universal product? :squint:

..and, do u expect the number of steelbook retailers ww to continue increasing?

Thanks.

I sent a message to Scanavo and they kindly replied that a 4000 print run is €2 per steel. I sent an email to Fox and Universal but unsurprisingly they have yet to answer any of my questions

Thanks for this information.
Which things are included for that price ?

-Inlayprint
-Backart
-quality matt finish or glossy finish
-embossing or debossing

It is possible to make Scanvo some suggestions that they make a steelbook with this wishes ?
Sure, before they produce this they must read with the label.

Hi Wreck,

do you have informations about the print run of Mars Attacks in Germany ?
This steelbook is sold out ans some rumors say this have a print run of 1000(UK 2500 and Spain 500), but this is for Germany(steelbookland nummer 1 according to a Scanavo interview) very very small.

So its possible like other steelbooks, that Amazon or Media Markt becoming more at the time ?

And have you san idea what we can do against this Ultra Limited Print Run madness ?
Its okay, when they make in outher countrys the same steelbook, so ists "enough" for the european collectors.

2) There is a feature you guys haven't seen yet ; (that I have) but again I can't say. It would be a game-changer ... so I hope it sees the light of day. :) It's a testament to the innovation that Scanavo/SteelBook(TM) bring to the table and the quality they bring with their products.

Okay, this is a very old comment, but which feature mean you ?

The comment is 2 years old, so you can say what this mean.;)

How can it be cost worthy to emboss something? Especially for what steelbooks are going for these days, heck my Weetabix cereal box has embossed lettering and it's glossy too! :hilarious:

I'm not even kidding.

I would wager that he was referring to the under utilised, laser etched numbering of steelbooks.

ES's World War Z and Zavvi's City Of God are the only movies that have had it done so far (correct me if I'm wrong)

below

I may be wrong on this, but wasn't the IM2 target metalpak also laser etched

it was laser etched numbering. really just a blank case with laser #ing and then lenticular on the case. (and there is inside art tho)

that is what I was referring to! :)

at E3 a few years ago I saw some sample steels with it. One was a fifa steel where the football (soccer) player had his signature signed on it in laser etched. I always thought this would be very cool if they could do this with movies but like Director Series.... they did slips like this once but would be cool to have this on front of steelbooks etched in.

will answer other questions later, sorry

Hey Wreck,

Sorry if this has been answered before, but is the any country that has released all 3 Iron Man movies in steelbook.

I know that KimchiDVD has a pending release of Iron Man coming up which would mean Korea would have all 3, but I was wondering if any country already had all of the out.

Cheers

Its funny, but you have totally right.

The problem is, say this to the studios.

Some UK steelbooks have no embossing or debossing(for example all Studiocanal steelbooks, all Lionsgate steelbooks, some Disney/Buena Vista steelbooks and some Fox steelbooks).

And look at Germany, which steelbook have a embossing ? Not even all steelbooks have a inlayprint or a backartwork without printed text.:(

Rush is embossed to great effect.

Hey Wreck, what is a steelbook(s) that got cancelled before we ever got to see it, and you know the Ninja community would've loved?

Its a good question.
I think the problem is, the Universal horizontal steelbooks dont sell well and now they have worrys about further steelbook releases.

Personally, I have nothing against more digibooks:)
