I dont know how long I will do this, or if people have questions ... but I'll check this thread daily in case people have questions about steelbooks etc. I'll try to answer to the best of my ability from what I am allowed to say in some cases or just info you may not have seen me drop before in past threads.

agreed.

Call them global runs ... they share off the same print run thus saving money. Kinda been like that for over 2 years now ... you'll always have exclusive stuff mixed in ... It does help many prioritize which to buy as its easier to obtain something that was a global run later on.

IN hand pics getting posted there today. ;) (in its thread) Will have to follow up on the packaging ... but I presume new.

oh cool:D

Hey Wreck, something very lacking in steelbook releases is TV Shows: True Blood, Breaking Bad, Lost, Supernatural, Vamp Diaries, Star Trek (yay for Amazon.de), Sons of Anarchy, Dexter. The list is endless really and people WILL pay to have them. And now we can fit 4 discs into a G2 there's really no reason we can't have them.....:scat:

I personally think back catalog TV steels are a bad idea. New shows, maybe. Going back and replacing all my TV series would be a royal pain in the ass. I think Game of Thrones would've been a good start, and Lost is tempting because it was my favourite but ultimately TV studios releasing all my old favourites on steelbook would just piss me off. Not to mention expensive! Sons of Anarchy came out on steelbook in Australia and they're still hanging around on shelves in JB Hi-FI, who had the exclusive deal, a year later.

Have you heard anything or is it likely we will see a Jurassic Park 3D steelbook?

It's a little early for that, and Wreck can't say anything until it's announced anyway.

Those aren't steelbooks, they're metalpaks, which sell significantly worse

Wreck, do you know whether a HDN exclusive is in the pipeline? My suggestion would be:

Hey Wreck,

Is the Canadian comic book wave going to be something unique for each or generic artwork like Germany's?

Thanks in advance

Wreck,

Zavvi are doing an awesome job with their catalog releases so far and I love their enthusiasm but do you know if they have any plans on bringing out NEW releases in steelbook format?

Thanks!

Wreck. Taxi Driver Artwork. Talk To Me. :D

Hopefully soon ....

you talking about inside art? Cause most the art is already shown on amazon.com (front)

Not sure, but I'm sure its in their plans and goals. Hopefully they can bring that to us as well. However most UK studios take on biggest bids for new releases so it can be a challenge.

Hey wreck do you by chance know how amazon US is planning to package steelbooks. I believe the last time they had a steel was the Bonds which were well before my collecting. I know they are getting the comic ones in june and some of the other ones just being re-released ect. Any possible info would be great ... Thanks :scat:

Wreck I was wondering if you know anything about these new batman steels specifically the Zavvi white ones. Amazon now listed different artwork so are white exclusives or just placeholder artwork?

Thanks

Good question ... I guess like most places you got bad chances if you order just one. They typically use small boxes that are more than fine when ordering in like 3+ qty of regular movies so hopefully the same in regards to steels. Ordering just 1x might net you a bubble mailer.

I'm sure you saw by now it was placeholder ... they didnt put that up intentionally wrong on purpose....

Wreck, any info on the two Star Trek releases by Zavvi? Finishes, em/debossing and blu banner? Desperately trying to justify cancelling one of them but just not sure which.

Cheers for your time. :scat:

Wreck, with the news that Zavvi oversold initially on Aladdin, could you possibly please check to see if that may also have happened with Finding Nemo?

The reason I ask, is I cancelled my initial order to make use of the recent discount codes, so I'm just a little wary that when there was only a few hundred left, I could end up with them now being unable to fulfil my order.

Cheers
