Regarding its 3+ hour running time - I was 'moaning', questioning why, isn't Avatar 3, 4 and, jeez, 5 enough? Why make it 3 hours? Or why not make 10 freaking Avatars then, 1.5 hours each.
But then I read Cameron's interview in Total Film, I think, where he shows he acknowledges the sequel could bomb, and then Avatar 3 would be the last movie, wrapping things up.
So maybe he's afraid, and sticking more of the plot into Avatar 2?
On the other hand, there's gotta be an outline for all 5, even finished scripts, so I don't know, maybe it's just visual fluff.

Which begs another question - he's said to have developed and 'perfected' some kind of special underwater cameras to better, more beautifully 'capture underwater scenes'... Excuse me, aren't they all just CGI? What?

I just hope there's some kind of contained story arc that ends in Avatar 2. Obviously a sequel will be setup but I hope there isn't a total non-ending.

I mean it's 3 hours and 10 minutes long, there better be a real f'ing ending haha.
