According to a German user MM System shows a listing for a Avatar 3D Steelbook (Media Markt exclusive)
Release Date: 31.12.2012 (looks like a Placeholder Date to me)

This is a 1 disc version, at least the one I got only has 1 disc. But it is region free for both 2D and 3D

oh well i've taken the plunge and got one off ebay for a reasonable price, and i'd only just bought the standard steelbook one from HMV the other week . so might as well the get rid of that now. I've also got a strange feeling that Zavvi will announce there exclusive Avatar 3D Ultimate Extended Collectors Edition steelbook later this year.

i doubt zavvi will release this movie since they're already selling the hmv one on their site

lucky you, but i'm afraid I could'nt resist once i so it in my Local HMV has i'd also's wanted an Avatar steelbook since I started fully collecting steelbooks last may. I'd totally forgoten Megabee had taken photo's of this which make's this steelvbook look amazing. (shame about the german text on the back, just my opinion)

from the optical side of view - definitiv yes- there might be some versions out there which have more extras or director's cut but i`m addicted to lenticular steels. And this is my favorite one

I have both I Robot and Titanic and they're not matte, they're gloss. It's similar to the Asian Hobbit 3D Steelbooks (matte) compared with France's lenticular (gloss)

this steels definitely matte bro.. idk about titanic and irobot but from the unboxing videos ive seen at least titanic seems to be matte as well..
