The only thing left now is to find out if we made it into GB. If not, lets get ready for the friday mayhem. Well, the one I want (type C) seems to be the most unpopular one, so might still have a chance of getting it.

Is to find out? I thought it's not happening until Friday at 1pm - or have i misread what you've wrote?

There are so many requesting copys in the different GB's for this title so people are questioning if the GB host are gonna be able to serve all. The site itself are making this live on friday for those who will try and buy directly from Nova. ;)

And therefor, NovaMedia should notify the gb starters which amounts they are getting.

They should do that at the start of the gb and when the demand is popular, if within reasonable amounts, make the predefined amounts for the gb's higher.

But never, never let the free market quantities be lower than the amounts given to gb's.

Especially not for this release.

I can understand that as a business you want to get rid of your stock asap at the lowest handling price, that's economics. But it would do everyone well to hear the amounts before live-time so that people in the gb's know where they stand.

Cause I'll be damn if I miss out in the gb and at live time.

Or even worse.

Not knowing whether you made the cut with the gb, you order from Nova straight and later on get the message that you made it in the gb.

Now you have a 2nd copy which another collector could have had. But because you don't know the info upfront, you'll do anything possible to secure your copy.

Because not nothing if I made it into the gb, I order it from Nova, to eventually get in the gb and have 2 copies at the end. That 2nd copy could and should go to a fellow collector.

I'm skipping this altogether, but I totally agree with you.

This is the worst situation of all as people who are in the GB already but don't know if they will get a copy will try and order directly as well and a lot of people will miss out unnecessarily.

And how is that different than any other release? I haven't been following the thread (because I really don't care for all of the drama that's seemed to become associated with steelbook collecting) so I really don't know--is there something different about the NovaMedia group buys compared to any other group buy? Aren't group buys always limited by how many copies the GB host is able to order?

Usually that limit is known before hand.
Maybe you should have read the thread fully before commenting.

It's mostly a combination of Nova's reputation for server issues and how badly they communicate with GB hosts. High demand due to nobody wanting to deal with the servers but not knowing how many copies are available, getting a vague number and then being told plans have changed, or even being told a GB could be hosted and then being told they couldn't after names had been taken already (and then changing their minds yet again in the case of the NA GotG GB Andy hosted last time).

I didn't bother adding my name to MB's GB after the NA one was closed so I have no stake in how it works out...but I get the concern. Not knowing if the copy they requested is confirmed could lead to people inadvertently double buying just to be safe, making things even worse for everyone involved.

I was really hoping this would go live when I was off work. It's going to be really tough to get this during work hours. If the site works perfectly and I have all the pages set up beforehand I might be able to pull it off, but there's no way I can sit there retrying for more than a few minutes, if that.

5k print run... means it'll be easy to get
Piece of cake checkout with 1-click option from my smartphone
Only thing is that people who joined the GBs are not guaranteed to get what they want. I'll take my chances on Novamedia's superior website :naughty:.
