I got "A" bad feeling about this Steelbook :dunno:

I see what you did there.

Personally I've lost faith with all UK releases. There have been so many disappointments over the last 12 months (Including the first Avengers re-release) that I just don't get excited by new announcements any more as there's a 90% chance it'll look like a piece of crap in hand. This will no doubt be the same. Seriously, we're a million miles behind every other country in terms of steelbook quality, what is going on??? :ugh:

Whoa, a million miles behind every country? That's quite a statement! I wouldn't say the UK has the absolute best when it comes to steelbooks, but to the worst, ie a million miles behind? I don't think so!
I agree over the last 12 months the steels over here have been diluted compared to what we did have, but compare that to Germany, Australia and the U.S., we still have it good.
Of course the steels from Nova, FA, BF and Kimichi are by far the better quality and superior to most of what has come out over here, but don't forget, AND IT REALLY PAINS ME TO SAY THIS, IT REALLY DOES, Zavvi, *stop laughing* despite what many think, myself included, did open the door to steelbook market and brought many many exclusives to the UK. The Disney range is by far their Jewel in the Crown, although they have really dropped a clanger too many times to have my forgiveness.
I'm now glad the likes of FA are seemingly raising the bar and I'm a big fan of them now, but it dosent mean I want the UK market to go backwards, if anything FA could teach the likes of Zavvi a thing or two, and they may up their game.
Seriously though the UK steelbook market is a lot better than some countries. But will agrees the last 12 months have been a bit "meh".

My 2 cents anyway![emoji12]

I think you need to take those 'premium' Steelbook blinkers off. There have been some great Steelbooks released in the UK this year.

Umm, seriously?

Even if you ignore the likes of the recent Jurassic Park releases, the Fast & Furious franchise and the Marvel releases, of which most were great releases but not UK exclusives, you still have Zavvi's Disney and Pixar range (most of which are fantastic), Daleks: Invasion Earth, 2150AD, The Crow and The Wicker Man, all of which were great steelbooks.

In fact, outside of a few Zavvi exclusives, most UK steelbooks are available elsewhere in the world just with different J-cards. Most US steelbooks are indeed US exclusives, but most of the time their poor finishes let them down. That and the fact that most of their websites don't ship outside the US or charge an arm and a leg to do so, unlike most EU companies which do at a reasonable price.

For every poor UK steelbook (Star Wars trilogy), you get a poor US one (Batman Begins)
For every great UK steelbook (Watchmen), you get a great US one (ironically, Watchmen)

It's the same story worldwide. Even many (but not all) of the sought-after Korean or Blu-fans releases are just the EU edition with a slip over the top.

Plus Under The Skin, Equalizer, Sin City 2, Ex Machina etc, there's been some stunning releases through them [emoji41]

There are far worse than the star wars trilogy steels.

It's weird that this is coming out in a few months and we have no artwork and no domestic steelbook release notice.

Hi Shrute, when is this coming out? It still says December on Zavvi? I was just hoping they would put a Lenti on this one like they did with their Avengers release, which even though the quality of the Lenti magnet wasn't as good as the Asian distributors, was still a pretty cool release! Most likely they will do a standard release and then in 6-months to a year their will release it again with a Lenti to cash in....

I will double dip this one especially if Nova releases it as well :greedy::greedy:
