I know one thing I won't be cancelling not in a million years will I be doing that
This has to be seen in hand not go by a photo
I never go by a photo always in hand first and only then do I say if I like it or not

Golden rule with steelbooks
Wait till you have it in your hand and even then only when its fully unsealed

I never judge a steelbook that is sealed as its not been seen fully its still sealed

Only after unsealing a steelbook and looking at it completely

I'm not speaking for everyone (and Lone Survivor) I'm just pointing out that it's a personal bug bear of mine and it really annoys me. I've passed on other lentis because of it.

To me it looks ridiculous when you've an image that's shrunken down inside a lenti and gives a double exposure look.

The Lenti should just be an extension of the cover art and it should all blend in seamlessly. I have plenty of lenti steelbooks like that.

I'm sure others will think it's the best lenti ever. It's down to personal choice.

I know it's Zavvis first one so I'll wait until I have it in hand to decide if I keep it or not.

The biggest complaint is simply because the lenti's image doesn't align properly with the steelbook underneath. The transition isn't seamless. In hand photos won't change that. This should've been the cover used for either of the Nova or Zavvi releases. The proportion is the most accurate among the others out there.

This was never going to be a FULL lenticular magnet like the Walmart Man Of Steel release, it's just the same design as the very common german lenticular magnet releases, I never thought otherwise to be honest.

Ive just had a good look at the pic that someone has found and it looks good to me.

I have read comments about the "double images" but to me it looks like its just the angle that the lenti is showing.

Example - on Thor. You can see his arm and the majority of his cape on the border. On the lenti image you can only see the first part of his arm and the first part of his cape. Not as much as on the border.

I think its just the angle personally. Cant wait to get it.

Looks about what I was expecting with regard to the lenticular magnet ,inside the border .i'll take the order and see what it's like in hand before contemplating getting rid ,let's face facts ,the original was one of the most bland Steelbooks about .

If the character images move, from left to right and thus, right to left, logically when you look at the lenti straight on they should be mis-aligned. When you tilt it, from one angle Hawkeye will line up and tilt it the other way, Thor will line up with the background steel. Surely that's the only way it could work. The alternative would be for the lenti image to be over-sized but the it still wouldn't line up one way or another.

I think it's the angle too.

The lenti being slightly off the steel artwork is nowhere near as big a deal as this tread is trending it to be. Zavvi just cant do right in the minds of steelbook collectors. They deserve some of the flak they get but they are the clear punching bag of the steelbook community. I think they did a great job by stepping out a doing a lenti magnet for a very popular film collectors asked for. That being said the title is lame so i passed. But thats a UK thing, not Zavvi.

Couldnt agree more @nkb32

Im not Zavvi biggest fan anymore but i am glad that they decided to do a lenti.

I had a feeling from the get go that it would just be like the German lenti's so im not too sure why some ninja's are unhappy.

Thread decending into chaos due to a seller and his suspicious photo...I'd really like to know HOW this seller got that item (the same sellers other items have the same background in the photos, so clearly in his possession, and also the Pirates of the Carribean Zavvi steels have appeared in his listings) The seller is in Watford, so don't know if that's near any warehouse, these are ZAVVI exclusives correct?, promos or something more sinister ?

Anyhow, the steelbook looks fine to me, and I will not be cancelling, despite the criticism, the Lenti magnet is exactly as I was expecting, (like Life of Pi), so I'm not at all bothered. I even expect the steel to be Matte finish so as to reduce the effects of scratches from the magnet.

But I'm still eagerly waiting to see this, not yet charged for it, but seeing as this steelbook is clearly out there.....well in Watford anyway..:squint:....I should hope for despatch Tuesday.

you shared the photo... you must have thought seeing a photo was of some value.

the image on lenticular magnet is visibly smaller than the image it covers, it is even visibly smaller than the embossing border. that's no trick of the light or perspective

either way i like the way the whole package looks, i did cancel mine though.
