There are so many mixed feelings about this release the last couple days. I still can't tell much of a difference between a Viva Metal Case and a Steelbook. Will this sit up on my book shelf and look the same as a steelbook or do these Viva Metal Cases look different when standing up?

Well that was sloppy text by me. I have never seen a Viva Metal Case so I have no experience with them. The closest thing I have would be Blufans OAB #1 Elite Squad which is a Viva Metal Box but it is sealed, I don't open my SB's. It looks a little different unopened, I guess I will have to wait and see, my first Viva Metal Case. Got 2 copies due to Zavvi's excellent shipping methods I know I have to get that copy of the Avengers which is a Metal Box at some point but it's a ways down on my list of things I need to acquire.

i'm more amazed that zavvi haven't stuck up the cancellations for this, i now really suspect they'll end up with the dreaded s*hit z-box's as zavvi normally do cancellations a few days before release.

I've got a feeling they are going put them back on for £49.99 like they did with Guardians

this is zavvi nothing would surprise me! i have mine on pre-order but i feel for those that want one and now may not be able to get one, but it could just another one of zavvis tricks to generate more interest as they do of late. there have been alot of cancellations on this since nova announced but for me this is the one i want tbh, the only thing better imho is the nova back but thats just me!

Agreed, I prefer the Zavvi version, but I'm likely to get the Nova one also as I think the art on that is very good.

As much as I moan about Zavvi, they do get a LOT wrong, I think they are on to a winner here, but my feeling is that all the people who missed out on round one, are going to get shafted on the price, or worse still forced to get the shitbox... I mean zbox!

It's not just this one. According to the posts on this forum here there have been some cancellations of POTC, too. And they are still shown as sold out. They even started shipping yesterday, at least the third one.

And about the steelbook. I would have preferred a different inside artwork. It's very similar to the front. But I still can't wait to finally hold it in my hands. Will probably take about two weeks till I get it though, even if they start shipping on Tuesday

Even though my comment was deleted I still think when/if Zavvi re-stock this item due to cancellations it will be bundled with the Zbox. Zavvi know this will be a high demand release so they'll bundle it with a Zbox like they did with GOTG for more profit.

Yes I know that, but what I'm saying is they will probably not put these back into stock to buy on it's own for £24.99 it will most likely be bundled with Zbox leaving customers with little choice, buy with Zbox or miss out.

I think thats just the photo, if you use the flash with a lenticular it always darkens the border of the steelbook.
