Regarding your story - AT LEAST YOU GOT AN REPLACEMENT lol
Heard it more than often that Zavvi tries to feed you with voucher/gift codes for 10-20% off of your next purchase lol - how would that replace a destroyed - possible OOP/OOS - steelbook?!

I guess we should not get too deep into this again, wasted time..

And let's not forget what this thread primarely is for - a kick-ass steelbook!

Well it changed on their website so not sure how much more official they can be without the owner standing on top of Zavvi HQ with a megaphone shouting hear ye hear ye we have an announcement about a release date change...

Yes it did change firstly it said May 30th that then changed early last week to April 6th now the website has no date whatsoever due to it passing the 6th April.

You have no way of knowing how copies ended up on Ebay.

As is clear, Zavvi haven't sent any out yet so it can't be from sclapers as they won't have theirs yet either. If Zavvi are telling the truth, and they haven't even received them from the suppliers then it can't be Zavvi warehouse staff either (if Zavvi had them in hand they'd be sending them - they want your money, make no mistake).

So who is their supplier? Technicolor handle Disney releases AFAIK, so maybe one of their employees has access to them from their warehouse. Are T.H.E. still going? They used to be home entertainment suppliers too.

Release dates change all the time, and while it would be nice to be kept in the loop, Zavvi often don't or you just get the standard apology email when it does. So why has the date changed? Maybe Disney wanted to time it better with AoU (which means they're in a warehouse somewhere waiting to be sent to Zavvi), or maybe Technicolor didn't send them out on time/was effected by the Bank Holiday.

Basically, apart from not knowing why Zavvi's date changed, you're venting your anger at the wrong people.

Anyway, Technicolor are in charge of Disney's supply chain but there is a good chance that they haven't received the stock yet from the manufacturers (it wouldn't be the first time) especially if Disney has brought the date forward like they did. If anyone had a copy to put on eBay it would be either lifted from the Warehouse or from a Disney employee. Technicolor staff wouldn't be able to get hold of them.
I am tempted to call one of my old colleagues but not that tempted

It is funny how a lot of collectors have no issue with retailers holding their payment for months without dispatching the Steelbook yet have a tantrum when Zavvi haven't dispatched one day after the release date that falls on a bank holiday. If it is such a big deal, cancel your order, problem solved!
