If I were you I would cancel the HMV order and get the German steelbook from Amazon. Amazon is win win. Better packaging and better customer service + bonus disc etc.

from what I read the assemble part is just because I guess there is a show in the UK that is called Avengers so to avoid any confusion they put the 2 names but it won't have 2 names on the disc or cover at least that is what I read couple months ago..

you are right ether way if you are buying this movie better get the best one out there besides by time is all done there will be some many editions and special editions out that is almost imposible to have them all.

I've gone with the Spanish one at amazon.es. It's 2 disc (2D + Bonus, no 3D crap), plus I've already got an order for Jurassic Park, BTTF, and Apollo 13 for around the same time anyway, so I just added it to that for the same flat shipping. The Spanish one is out sooner than the UK one too.

I'm just wondering why it has 1 star out of 5 after 118 reviews?

It shares reviews with all versions of the film, 3D, 2D, and steel. One or more of them got put up for pre-order at a really really low price, which lots of people ordered. And then Amazon cancelled them all and corrected the price. So then lots of self-entitled dipshits decided that even though it was a clear mis-price and that they knew it would never be honoured, that this was a good reason to 1 star it. Even though the ratings are for the film, not Amazon. Perfectly reasonable, if you have the social skills of 14 year old under house arrest.

Amazon should really wipe any reviwes that aren't about the film, I know .com and .co.uk would.

The post isn't confusing, it's quite simple! If you buy from HMV you get an exclusive steelbook, if you buy from sainsburys you get amaray with a exclusive slip and 90 mins of unseen bonus content and if you buy from Asda then you get an amaray and a graphic novel free! I didn't mention about the amaray's before, because I said in the previous post that the steelbook is a HMV exclusive, which means anyone else in the UK selling The Avengers can only sell the amaray packaging!

I was close to doing the same thing. I love the Viva's but am gonna double dip and get the HMV one too. I think I'm the only person who actually likes the spine on the uk one.

Personally I prefer art and text on the spine. In this case, they might have gone a little too far with the multiple floating heads. But I like to see it first hand before passing further judgment especially with the overlapping motif.

I'm a fan of the spine too... very unique! Plus, it's better than having 'Avengers Assemble' on there.
