Back to basics:

LPCM / PCM = Uncompressed / Constant bit rate
DTS-HD MA = Compressed / Lossless / Variable bit rate
DTS-HD HR = Compressed / Constant bit rate (this is normally used when disc space is limited or constrained or if the Studio is lazy)
DOLBY TRUE-HD = Compressed / Lossless / Variable bit rate

Plainview, am I right in saying you've already confirmed that this UK version also has the censored blade scene??

So it's not just the German release then EEK!

Yeah confirmed watched the scene twice and in slow mo, there's no blade. Although I'm 99% sure the version I saw in the cinema did include the blade :(

how many of these did hmv have on the shelves

Plenty of them more than they had of hunger games. 19.99 is a decent price as well.

agreed, i ordered online which worked out at €19.45 with a 20% discount, didnt think it would be that cheap instore, if i get a damage copy ill be buying one instore and returning the other copy to the store instead of online:hilarious:

I think it's a bit expensive for a bare bones, one disc version of the film. For €24.99 I got the 3 disc 3D version from Amazon.de. (an extra fiver)

Much better value IMO.

True I only got it because of the delay with the phase one US boxset, that I pre-ordered back in may. Didnt want to pay to much for it this time around.

Pretty disappointed with this must say but never mind, won't ruin the film for me. Does mean that I'll sell this version now though and pick up the German release, think its worth the extra few £ for 2 extra discs...

It's not that big a problem that it's a bare bones edition it's a nice looking steel, and no doubt that in 6 months they will release a bigger edition with like four discs packed with special features. Marvel will milk this release for all it's worth.

Do you think it's HMV that censored the movie?

HMV can't censor a release, it's the idiots at Disney :angry::angry:

No it was the BBFC, right? I'm just venting my frustration is all.

Don't look to far into it.

The BBFC didn't censor the disc, they report no cuts/alterations

If it was given to them as already cut by Disney they would report any cuts - but how could they, they only rate what they are given.

Hmm ... so does this mean that every dvd / Blu Ray release of this film is 'censored' then ?. Even the U.S release ?.
