Funny thing is for me its only since TNT have been delivering these ive started to get damaged steels, mainly crushed boxes and ive notice every single box i get from them via TNT arrived squashed. Ok i know this is nothing to do with the scratches on the spines ect but i hope they go back to royal mail asap.

Royal Mail delivered mine...Maybe TNT collects and goes through their distribution/circulation?

Funny that Noodles...Your postitve energy towards HMV...Works in your case :D
Haha yep, it seems that way! Although,. I think I've just been very lucky. I can't see it lasting that much longer to be honest... my turn to receive a damaged steelbook is probably right around the corner. :ohno:

All set to return my 3 damaged ones, but with so many turning up slashed and scored across the spine, I think the chances of receiving replacement copies with the same issue is pretty high.

Seems to me maybe the best option (if you don't want the store security tags) is to pick these up from evilbay or from other members who have spare, undamaged copies. Crazy that it should be necessary to do that, but it seems that the damage rate is so high that there's no guarantees that replacements will be any better.

What are you guys who have received slashed copies doing - trying for replacements from HMV online?

I finally received mine this morning, it has a nice scratch across the front and it sounds like it has a loose disc, I've not even bothered to open it to check, it's going back.

I'm normally vehemently against any form of censorship for home video, but in this case I can honestly say that the edit doesn't bother me.

I'm far more concerned about the volume of damaged copies being received and the possibility of getting equally damaged replacements. That's what HMV should be taking flak for.

This won't be a factor to those who keep theirs sealed, but when you actually unseal it, you only need to glance at it and it gets covered in fingersprints. They show up really badly. I don't remember any of the Fox Definitive Editions being this bad for showing fingerprints and they were black cases also.
This is the first Steelbook where I'll have to put on gloves just to handle it.
Is it just me? Perhaps I have naturally greasy fingertips?? :emb:

cor blimey! Internet on fire this morning!!!

Contains spoilers so be warned

Slashed spines
Censored version (Disney saying it's the same version that was shown in UK cinemas which is wrong prompting a BBFC investigation)
missing bonus features
No DMR points

anything else to add to the list?

Ridiculous quote from Disney in the first link - "We also know that hardcore fans with Blu-ray players are probably going to end up buying the US release which has the commentary." Oh well, that's OK then.

Just off the phone to HMV to let them know I only received one when I had ordered two. The c/advisor informed me that it would not be deem as missing till next Wednesday which I responded by saying that I wanted on record before all the damaged returns arrive back and end up not getting a copy. Her reply was,

"HMV take care to ensure all products are of the highest standard and every care taken to sustain this level of quality right to the customer".

I just laughed and said can I have your extension number so I can speak to you if I have to call back next week to report my delivery still not arrived, needless to say I didnt get the number. I am still laughing ....Priceless :hilarious:

I agree with he above. Don't really care that one scene has been 'edited'. This film is pretty tame when it comes to violence and brutality. This is Avengers not Blade, where we expect blood and guts in every scene. Plus when you see the film which if your like me will watch several times over, then You won't notice the difference.

And on the 3D disc issue not really big issue for me, going to hold back to hear what others say about the 3d quality on blu-ray.
