OMG, 30 sec slot on the BBC's comsumer programme "Watchdog" re "Cut" and Missing features. The issues have been aired on TV now...Even showed a Steelbook!

Yeah I saw it, made me chuckle. :]

Off the topic of the Steelbook, the sales rep they eventually confronted on Rogue Traders was despicable.

i received my copy today (was sent in a cardbox) and luckily no scratches on the spine :oohyeah:

it's a poor release but if you're keeping this steelbook sealed than i consider this as a pretty good deal(especially for £15 shipped) and the Avengers Alliance sticker on it really adds some coolness :scat:

the funny thing about the cut is,

In the UK cinema it was a 12A
which means no one under the age of 12 could be watch it without
an adult

with the cut its a 12
which means no one under the age of 12 can watch it

so the cut was pointless and not family friendly

so cut and given a higher

Here is my video of the German steel but I also made a comparison with the UK HMV release if you want to check it out.

The regular framerate on blus is 24fps all over the world.
PAL and NTSC are video signals... they don´t have nothing to do with time changes.

And Germany is an European country, just like the UK.

I just got off the phone to HMV customer support and the guy dealing with the call groaned a bit when I said I had received steelbooks with slashed spines. He said immediately, "it's the Avengers, isn't it" without me having to say any more, and he went on to explain that the matter had already been referred to Head Office after numerous complaints. He also said that stock for replacements was being carefully checked, and that all replacements should be free of slashes and scratches.

No info on whether Mr. Edward Scissorhands had been removed from unpacking duties in the warehouse however, so we wait to see if future releases are similarly afflicted...:ohno:

This fills me with hope. Very much appreciate you posting this. The worst thing that could have happened would be if these complaints never made it up the management tree and the issue wasn't resolved going forward.

Yeah, it is a very poor release. I was moaning about the way it smudges and picks up insane fingerprints a few pages back.
The ONLY thing this has going for it is that it doesn't say Assemble anywhere on it. For THAT, I'm eternally grateful. Sure the disc has it on, but we can swap that out with a foreign one anytime we like

A bit late to the party with these pictures, but this looks really great. I love the super glossy finish, more Steelbooks need to be finished like this one:
