Maybe not a TV series but I believe comic books are planned . . .

Anyway, the matter of a remake is a non-starter and that's from the horse's mouth.

Goonies not a good movie??? What you on, man??
I get that nostalgia is powerful. But Goonies is a very weak "hey, let's make Indiana Jones for kids" script.
It is on par with Explorers and D.A.R.Y.L. as movies that seem better than they are because you loved them when you were a kid. Nothing wrong with that at all. It's just not a very good movie. I loved Young Sherlock Holmes from that era. But I know it is not a great movie. But my nostalgia makes me believe it is. Same thing.

There is nothing wrong with nostalgia, if you get enjoyment from a movie then you can hardly call it weak. I enjoy watch goonies and I enjoy watching young sherlock Holmes. By your reckoning somthing like Breakfast club is weak as it's about a group of kids in detention, but is regarded as a classic and rightly so. Though it's all opinion based.

Regarding BTTF this too is a timeless classic which I have seen many times and I still enjoy watching it.

I agree that BTTF is a timeless classic. Goonies is not. That is all I am saying.;)

We've gone from the sublime to the ridiculous - from 'Back to the Future' to something that I've never even heard of called 'Mac and Me' by way of 'King Kong' and 'The Goonies'.
Talk about a derailed thread . . . LOL.

You seem to have a picture for everything.
How do you do that ? :)

Mac & Me was the great 80's movie about a boy who discovers an amazing Coke drinking, McDonald's eating, lovable alien.
It is well known that E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial ripped it off....
(Where's the sarcasm button...:watch:)

Sorry, still doesn't ring a bell though it does sound like a loveable homage to E.T. from what I've just read about it elsewhere.

It is one of the most horribly wonderfully bad movies ever made. You want product placement? There is a musical number in McDonalds with Ronald McDonald!!:rofl:

Thanks @Geek Tragedy for bringing this thread full circle and back on topic at last.
Although, as this film was partly financed by McDonald's, maybe it could be called 'Big Mac to the Future' ?
Mods scratching their heads as to which thread to dump this nonsense into or whether to simply consign it to well-deserved oblivion.
