Never seen these but always remember seeing the DVD when I used to work in a DVD store, this will be my perfect excuse to see them.

With regards to the low rating on IMDB, no offence to anyone but the votes on that place mean jack sh*t to how good or bad a film is. People vote films down or up for no reason at all. One place where I don't go to for views on movies is IMDB

kind of true, but for movies like Basket Case people generally don't flock to vote it down. Now if this movie starred Tyler Perry, was in the "Twilight" series, or was a documentary about a pop culture singer like Justin Bieber or Katy Perry I would agree with you.
