Blu 22

First, I would like to state the PQ is subjective to displays. So definition, hertz, setting and even distance can impact Picture Quality ratings. With that said this is my list based on my home viewing in 1080p 240hz Smooth Motion Vivid Setting at various ranges.

Top 22 Best Looking Blu
1. Avatar
2. Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon
3. Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted
4. King Kong
5. Ben Hur
6. The Terminator (Remastered)
7. Men in Black 3
8. Speed Racer
9. Baraka
10. The Dark Knight
11. The Three Musketeers (2012)
12. Life BBC (David Attenborough)
13. Toy Story 3
14. Total Recall (2012)
15. Real Steel
16. Prometheus
17. Bad Teacher
18. Tropic Thunder
19. Alice in Wonderland
20. Crank
21. The Lion King 1½
22. 300

I think there is a topic like this that already exist in Home Theater General Discussion (Home Theater - Audio / Video: What are your Demo disc)

The Dark Knight shouldn't be anywhere near a top 20! It's not a good transfer at all, Edge Enhanced to hell and back.

The Dark Knight use to be in my "Top 4" but I myself saw the difference in color timing. But I look at it like this, if you change the color on a Ferrari, its still a Ferrari. I understand the complaints but the good out weigh the bad about this transfer and I actually love how it looked on blu-ray. :scat:

By Transfer I take this to mean at least 2 years old so for me anything pre 2011 as newer films will stand a better chance of doing the process. SO in NO particular order

JAWS

ZULU

LOTR EXTENDED

I have also go high hopes for

FINDING NEMO ,

SHINDLERS LIST ,

WHO FRAIMED ROGER RABBIT.

my choice is based on a film transfer and not derived from a direct digital source ( i.e Avatar etc ).
Apocalypse Now
and i hope that anyone else who owns this film on blu ray will agree that the restoration work on this film was nothing short of amazing.

Agreed! Simply stunning. And also correct a transfer not from a direct source, that wouldnt be transferred. Sorry for any confusion.
