Karl,it would, if he had a Region B player and the disc was "locked" to Region A (Canada). However, as Andy mentioned, since he is in the US and we share the same region as Canada, he should be fine.

omg i quoted the wrong quote lol i meant us it As mentioned it's the wrong aspect ratio 1:78 instead of 2:35

does this make much differnce

Apologies if you know this already and I'm not trying to state the obvious ...

An aspect ratio of 2:35 on a 16x9 HDTV will have black bars at the top and bottom while an aspect ratio of 1:78 fills the entire screen.

I'm not against aspect ratios of 1:78, but I would prefer to see the film the way it was originally shot. What happens when changing from a ratio of 2:35 (or other similar ratios) to 1:78 is that portions of the sides of the film get cut off/ cropped in order to fill the space vertically.

This means that you don't see as much in the film as was originally shot.

Sometimes I care and sometimes I don't, but I usually try to choose a Blu-ray release with the original aspect ratio, as well as lossless audio and the best looking transfer as possible.

When it comes to Blade, I would prefer to see it in 2:35, which is why I passed on this Steelbook. Others may feel differently, and I respect that, so if its not a big deal to you then order up and enjoy the film! :movie:

Haha -- I almost answered the original question as if you asked about aspect ratios, just because of the way the question sounded... then at the last moment I realized you were talking about something else.

Guess I should have gone with my gut. ;)

Yes -- messing with aspect ratios is always bad. My advice would be to wait for a BD with the OAR intact.

I finally got my Alliance 2 order in today. The Fighter and Blade arrived with small dents in the bottom left corner (ironically the same exact place the last time I received denters from them). I shot an email off to amazon.ca, and I clearly checked the boxes for both of these items in the email.

They wound up sending me two replacements of Blade instead. Shot off another email, asking them to send me The Fighter and I'll ship a Blade back. They offered me to let me keep the denters w/o having to send them back! :)

Got this one the other day from Amazon.ca. Bought it because I love the artwork. Haven't opened it yet though....tonight or tomorrow this will get a viewing.

I got to meet up with Traci Lords this past weekend, so I had her sign my Blade Steelbook. Thought it was awesome to have her image on the back too, so I had her sign it there. It was funny, she didn't even know they made this - I told her she could just order one off of Amazon.ca.....

Damn spawn you must have some awesome collectibles:) first Walking Dead and now this;)

Don't forget about my autographed THOR SB too! LOL

Yeah, I like to make my collection a bit unique. Even the hardest to find SB or collectible can be found by others as well as yourself. But a signature (in person) is always a good way to jazz up a collection.
Thanks guys.
