Tempted by this but would prefer a trilogy steelbook. Although the fact the first one isn't available is putting me off.

Just because the first one is from a different studio that's no reason why all three could not be included in a steelbook in the way of 'The Godfather Trilogy' (yes, I know, these are all Paramount) and I suppose the only reason this doesn't happen more often is because the studios feel they would make less money than they would for three separate releases. . .
I haven't checked my records to see how much I paid for Play.com's 'The Godfather Trilogy' steelbook in 2012 but I'm pretty sure it was less than GBP 20 whereas with three separate steelbooks there would probably be little change left out of GBP 50.
There are several examples of Blu-ray trilogy box sets with more than the one studio represented however.

The fact that we have the second and third only while Japan (with my preferred artwork) for example has the first and second only is puzzling.

I will pass on these I think. I do love blade but Zavvi are just churning out standard steels with no extras for the artwork and/or discs:grumpy::sick:. Plus no Blade! If this goes down in price before going out of stock then I might consider, but I don't want to give Zavvi any more of my hard earned money, they don't deserve it!

Just ordered with a 5% discount code ZVC5 for a total price of £15.19 (along with Blade Trinity also).

Just wondered though, if Zavvi were to perhaps lower the price before the release date (19/10/15) - I would then not be eligible for their 'price promise guarantee'.

Similar issues happened with 'Terminator' as many people ordered whilst it was listed at £19.99 - used a 5% discount code which took it down to £18.99. However, closer to release date the price dropped to £14.99 and everyone who ordered using any kind of discount code where NOT eligible for the price change.

My question is: Is it best to order with a small discount of 80p or to order at the advertised price of £15.99 with NO discount code???

I kind of guess that they wouldn't lower the price much further than £15.99 anyway but appreciate anyone's views all the same!

Thanks in advance Ninja's

I wouldn't imagine they will reduce the price before release date, this is a fairly popular title.:)

I'm not really a Ninja but I'll give my opinion based on my personal experience as the following:-

They almost never reduce the pre-order price though they are more than likely to reduce the price further down the line AFTER release if in the likely event it does not sell out.

I haven't checked 'The Terminator' thread but I'd live to know if ANYBODY was charged GBP 14.99 for this steelbook.

EDIT: Just quickly checked 'The Terminator' thread and can't see any postings from anybody that paid/was charged GBP 14.99 for it.
This leads me to believe that this was NEVER the real price and that it was a bogus listing placed by Zavvi AFTER the item had originally 'Sold out' and NOT a 'live' price.
I stand to be corrected on this if I am incorrect in my assumption.

Hi @virkia and thanks for responding to my earlier post :)

Apologies to anyone if this post is going off subject.

I've had a quick browse myself through the 'Terminator' thread also and if you go to page 26 and look out for @Mr Y Fronts post, he paid just £14.99 upon dispatch of his item! :OMG:

I'm not sure how many others managed to secure this better price of 14.99 GBP... but it does go to show that on a few rare occasions, Zavvi DO drop their original pre-order price and if any discount codes have been previously used, you are NOT eligible for their 'price promise guarantee'.

EIV Blade 2 UK Blu-ray has all the same extras as the USA release
Lots of extras on the UK Blu-ray

Blade 1998 is not distributed by EIV it's from Warner UK

EIV (Entertainment in Video) only have the UK distribution rights to Blade 2 and Blade Trinity

Blade 2 and Blade Trinity steelbooks are EIV releases and offered to Zavvi as retailer exclusive

Zavvi are a retailer not a film studio
Zavvi don't make any steelbooks
They just sell what's offered to them with some been exclusive
They do approach some film studios and ask if a release is possible but all artwork and release decisions are with the film UK studio/distributors

For Blade 1998 to get a UK steelbook Warner UK would have to decide to do a release

I humbly stand corrected even though it was only live at this price according to @paulboland for "a few minutes"!

Hey thanks for that mate i knew i'd heard that tune somewhere before but didn't realise it was the original blade aka the first one.
But anyway as you said BASE in the place london !!
Do you mean the song in the nightclub at the start? That's a different tune (Confusion by New Order).

I don't remember Base To The Place London in it? Public Domain aren't even on the soundtrack .
