why does it have to be a character on a plain white backdrop ? wreck it ralph was the same but they changed it to the picture i picked out. I say choose an image with the entire family. to something like this

and considering it was a commonly used poster for the film the disney people should have no issue using it. (obviously they'd need to adjust the saturation of the image so it blends in more with the cover like i did)

hell if they want to use the triplet image use the poster it came from

even that would be a huge improvement + make the spine & sides a hazy dark forest green/blue rather than black and silver, I mean are these guys determined to make god awful steelbooks...really isn't that hard to get acceptable designs that flow.

oh and if zavvi insist on an embossed border on this thing, do the entire horse, Merida (inc her bow) and the logo. thats the only way a border will be acceptable on these kinda images. there needs to be more embossing like the avengers steelbook. makes the required border look less crap.

unless these constantly poor design choices change, there's no way i'm spending a penny on a zavvi steelbook.

It's heartbreaking to see what these steelbooks could have been, but yet end up looking like half-baked products compared to mock-ups by members here.

Unlike the majority, I really love the back artwork, though I find the front artwork really lame.

I really like the front artwork, also its different from the viva art so that a plus for double dipping but if they emboss the border its gonna go straight through the horse's head which will be a big shame, that's my first thoughts anyway. . And no comment on the back art

I have pre ordered for now as there's plenty of time to think about this one

Have to say, I do love my viva and zavvi's isn't that great overall. . I saw your mock up for this and I thought it would've been a beautiful steelbook and if zavvi had any sense they would've used your design and sold out on day one

At least when your not completely happy with a steel you can get out your lenticular's and just slap them on do you take the lenticular's off of amaray releases?

Ha, just seen your embossed edged mock, was hoping you'd do that. Yep, cuts the horse off and leaves the art looking completely random when its not framed correctly like that. This release needs to be flat, gloss and maybe a deboss on the title imo

They are given away as an incentive to buy the newest releases through the club. You can pick them up on Ebay for a fair price every now and then but most of the sellers there want to **** your wallet.
